Also, I'm not disappointed by this game. Staley's defense balled out. No touchdowns. Five or six sacks. A pick. Could the offense have been better? Sure, but that's the point of having a balanced team. If one unit falters, the other ones pick them up.

Oh, and Sloman didn't miss a field goal or extra point.

But they didn't beat them by as much as I wanted them to!!!

Good game.

Clearly the Giants made the Rams game a focus of their early season. Thet weren't going to let McVay slaughter them again.. They knew all of our tendencies in the sweeps, screens and run lanes... they probably looked past the 9ers last week a little. I feel like this was their Superbowl. Noble effort, it wasn't enough.

McVays game plan and play calling felt kind of... I dont know, not aggressive enough. Maybe the Rams didn't take this game seriously enough.. or something.
They didn't have the intensity they normally have on the road.

It seems like we're playing up to our competition, which I hate. I'll take the W, and although it's disappointing to not blow a team like the Giants out, last year we probably lose that game. Last year, we didn't win the games we should win. So far, knock on wood, we're doing that. We're a blown call away from 4-0.

A few quick observations:
-Not a huge fan of the defense, even though we only allowed 9 points this week
-Seems like we weren't taking this game all that seriously. A lot of drives stalled because of self-inflicted wounds
-Overall, it's a win, we'll take it

Glad we won, but I hope this feels like a loss to the players and coaches, because we did not play a good game at all, at least on the offensive side of the ball. D gets some credit, while giving up more yards than I would have liked, they didn't get that much help from the O. McVay was really off of his game today, and that trickled down through the entire offense.

On the flip side, to repeat a question I asked in the GDT ... how the hell did Darious Williams end up being undrafted? The kid can flat out play, and if you are a Rams fan, you've got to feel pretty damn good about him and Jalen being your starting QB's. Total money play at a money time, and it's the second time in 4 games he's done it (first time being against the Eagles when they were driving for a go-ahead score).

Let's fix our shit and go complete a sweep of the NFC East next week.

I feel like McVay didn't make them respect the vertical field today (until the Kupp td). They kept cheating up and shutting down all the lateral-field stuff, and were able to shut down the run.
