Rams game that turned me into a Ram fan

1989 playoffs vs the Giants, Flipper catches the game winner from Everett and runs off the field down the tunnel. Hence my username! Always loved the uniforms and was kinda a 50/50 Rams/49ers fan (I know, I know) mainly because I always liked Joe Montana...but that Flipper game is where I broke free! Straight to a decade of losing seasons

I was already a fan for 20 years by this point, but this game is special for me since I watched it in a bar in Rosarito, Mexico with a hottie from grad school. She'd make the booby thread.

Running off the field was the best ever. Isn't that the year he also had a million yards in a MNF game too?

Twelve years old and in 1973 my family just moved to Bakersfield in August of that year. The TV stations played every Rams game. Didn't miss a one that year. Fell in love with the colors, John Hadl, Harold Jackson, etc, etc.

Beyond a few vague memories, the game that I always referred to the moment I fell in love was the Dallas game. I was with my new girlfriend....BAAAAAAAAAArbara (cheap Bakersfield joke) and watched with pure amazement Hadl passing to Jackson for four TDs.

I understand crack addicts now. At that moment, totally hooked.

I feel like the Rams have always been a blessing to me. Win or lose. Of course takes a while after a loss but still. Everyone who knows me says right off, they know I am a Rams fan.

The Super Bowl where we beat the Titans. I watched the entire game on that small television we had in our old house, along with my dad, mom, and brother (although I'm not sure my brother remembers). I remember the beautiful pass to Bruce that put us up ahead for good. I saw McNair driving down the field, seemingly unstoppable, before that final pass to Dyson where Mike Jones stopped him one yard short.

I saw my dad cheering like mad; he had been a St. Louis Cardinals fan before a Rams fan, and they were absolutely pathetic in his time. He had a Super Bowl winning team, and I had a team to cheer for as a result.

Been a Rams fan since 64 because of the Fearsome Foursome. But in 66 when Roman Gabriel finally became the full time starter beginning with the game against the Atlanta Falcons, and watched their offense and defense demoralize the Falcons, that is when the Rams truly became my team.

It was 99 for me, regular season, I forget who we were playing. But at the beginning of the game, I turned it on, and seen the two teams, and I quickly decided I would root AGAINST the Rams and for the other team. About 3 touchdowns later, I said to myself, holy $#!+ this is the best team I've ever seen in my life, and was a Rams fan ever since. The superbowl win sealed it after that.

Super Bowl 34 for me. I was 9 years old at the time. The defender stretching for the goal line. One yard.

My Dad has been a Rams fan since he was 12 so it was never really a question for me either, but as a little girl I wasn't really interested in football, I was into dolls and princess movies ect.. I do remember football being on on Sundays though and my Dad cheering or being really frustrated LOL. I remember him talking about his hate for the Niners, him telling me "Remember, we love the Rams we HATE the Niners lol" Well flash forward, I'm 15, I've been seeing a boy that my father does not approve at all and my Dad and I are not on speaking terms. Any time that I am home I'm up in my room avoiding my Dad. Well one Sunday, October 10th 1999 to be exact my older brother come up to my room and says "You have to come downstairs and watch the Rams game with us, we're beating the Niners! Trust me you want to watch this" That game made me a fan and of course that was the fairytale season and those Sunday's with my Dad brought us back together

Maybe I’m just an old sap, but your story almost brought a tear to my eye.

In his later years, when my Dad and I were going through tough times, football felt like one of the few “safe” topics we could talk about. And now that I’m a Dad myself, of a 14-year old daughter and a 17 year-old son, I know how bumpy things can get.

But the idea of watching the Rams as a way to heal a rift between father and daughter? That got me all:
