I didn't think that the article was THAT bad....for example,

Troy Hill might be "disgruntled" because they took his number and gave it to Weddle without asking Mr. Hill. That could pizz a guy off n'est-ce pas?

Also, John Kelly was drafted in the 6th Round in 2018 to be our change-of-pace back, NO?
So, if Kelly was already on our roster last December, how come Snead went out and signed CJ Anderson huh? Maybe John SidewalkSurfer Kelly was a disappointment?

Also, if Kelly was drafted to be our change-of-pace RB in 2018, how come we spend a 3rd Rounder in 2019 to Draft another change-of-pace RB huh? Might John Kelly be a disappointment??

That USC RB kid Justin Davis has some breakaway speed....ie. he can outrace guys to the edge and turn the corner......does Kelly have that? I dunno.

McSnead had no hesitation about cutting Sam Rogers the RB/FB they selected as their 2017 SIXTH Rounder.....so why would they hesitate to cut their 2018 SIXTH Rounder Mr. Kelly huh??

Just asking.

They're much more likely to give up on Davis than Kelly. Kelly plays well on STs, runs hard inside, and should be a solid back in pass protection after learning from last year. Davis doesn't do anything particularly well (not even STs). He costs more than Kelly to keep and costs less to let go.

The writer never even mentioned Davis, while saying that Kelly was likely gone. I think that's the problem this writer - along with many others - seems to have: they don't know much about the team. They certainly know less than the good folks at ROD.

Besides what @Memento said - Justin Davis seems to be injury prone. He was injured multiple times at USC, missed games last season with an injury, only played a handful of games in 2017 - I couldn't find his injury status for those. But he's yet to show that his body can stand up to high level football. He has 3 carries in real games - 1 for 19 yards, and a total of 1 yard on the other 2. No receptions.

It's just not clear that he has the body to survive tackles in the NFL.

It's safe to say that he is on the bubble - Kelly is ahead of him - and there are financial reasons to keep Kelly over Davis anyway.

Yeah, I somehow doubt he's in that much demand - if any at all. I'm hoping they trade him for a 7th, and get a player who wants to play for the Rams - likely for less money.

— Dude still wondering where this QB is ??

Where do you get Troy is not at OTA’s ?? I also thought if you go to OTA’s your under some kind of contract ??

I went to photos on Rams site. Cory Littleton is totally focused, so is he signed ??

If not The Rams are in trouble at MLB ?

Troy being traded would not be the worst thing
In my view. I do think he looks really good right now in camp. He has great hops & is cut.Has had some good NFL experience & knows The Rams system under Wade very well.

I like some of the young CB’s coming back. Now that David Long got drafted really upgrades the positions depth & future.

Yeah, they didn't draft every position they were looking at - but it wasn't a secret they did look at QB. Oops. Surely this wasn't your first draft? The question sure makes it seem that way.

I'm telling you Kelly is a keeper, I watched him enough at Tennessee to know.

Yeah even though Davis is more of a change of pace than Kelly is, it's pretty clear that Henderson is going to squeeze Davis out. I'd be surprised if Kelly was the one to go.

Really ??? Why didn’t they draft a QB ??

When was the last time The Rams & Les Snead drafted a QB ?!

Jared Goff ?? When The Rams have Blake Bortles on there squad they are not looking for a QB. Of course they do there due diligence.

Then why didn’t they bring in a UDFA ?? They have there QB’s maybe they were one of the teams the Giants thought we’re going to move up & draft the QB from Duke ??

Yet to be seen if anything was rebuilt through the draft since nobody drafted has played yet.

But I have a real sense of trust in Snead. He's like Ozzie Newsome. He usually makes good selections and seems to have an eye for talent at lots of different positions.

It takes someone that really understands the entire game to be able to pick guys that play all over the field and do it as well as Snead has done.

I'll take a stab at this............sort of...........and say that within 2 years 3 or 4 players are starters and doing well.

Well, offhand - they had more needs and holes they wanted to fill than picks - so they went where they felt there was value. They didn't interview half a dozen QBs for the heck of it, during a time they were very busy. And they have kept three quarterbacks, even for part of last season. They cut the third eventually because he wasn't very good, and they had other uses for the roster spot.

Here's a hint - Bortles is on the team for one season. There needs to be someone developed - but given they have many more needs for 2020 than they had picks, they picked where they felt there was value. You know, like good teams do.

It is sheer fantasy to think that the Rams looked at QBs for the heck of it. Before the draft multiple posters listed the Rams' needs - which were more than their picks. Nothing unusual about that, at least if you actually pay attention.

They haven't brought in a UDFA QB because they already have a camp arm. Why waste time on another guy who isn't worthwhile from the Rams' perspective? There's only so many snaps even in preseason, and Bortles will be taking a lot of work, trying to bring him up to snuff. If the right guy comes available, that changes things though.

The right guy comes along. Like ??

More needs at other positions than QB ? Well
I think I have been paying Attention!!
I put the bet up on the site just to prove my POINT ?? The Rams were already set at QB !!

Yes !! If I see a Dak Prescott or even say who ever else ?? Yes you need to be ready to draft a QB ?? Wasting time looking at a QB ??
The Rams went & worked out a couple other players as well McVay & Snead said we’re looking at Liam & Walton. I think a RB ??
Maybe it was Henderson because they wanted to know his skill set catching the ball.

They did it on the down low so some body like yourself did not have the heads up. It doesn’t take a genius to know the QB class was not very deep & there was no one they would have been able to draft with there salary cap issues. They had the lowest 3 in amount of space to use for rookie picks.
In fact they saved money moving out of the first round.

You wanted to make it such a point weeks before the draft about a QB !! Now your saying it’s my first time watching a draft.

I used to have a better idea on almost all the top picks. Truth is I was hoping The Rams could get David Long in the 3rd once they picked Henderson. I was not sure McVay was going to make that move on a RB!!

I was thinking they might have messed up by passing on him. They did a excellent job to come away with pieces they did.

When it comes to offensive lineman there are a few players teams can get late that really make an impact. Noteboom last year I flat out loved he had a chance to play LT !! Especially behind Whitworth. What a great pick.

Kromer his first year as a Rams coach told McVay there was not enough value with the offensive line to draft early. That he liked the young lineman The Rams has.

EVERYONE I listed to was pissed The Rams traded back !! When Copper Kupp was drafted it settled down the draftniks. The fact was Everett was a McVay guy(3 TE’s on draft board) , but we’re able to get John Johnson for free.

Looking a 2019
Adderley was there at 60, then Rams picked Travis Rapp at 61. Thought David Long.

This year I wanted Josh Oliver who went 69, was not sold on Warring. When The Rams went Henderson I knew McVay had him circled & was the playmaker he talked about.
—Then looking at the draft board never thought David Long Wood be there. When The Rams drafted him it was perfect.

The next pick had to be OT or DT. When Kromer went OT & talked about Zach working with him was cool. They scout together & have there views. Reminds me of seeing Belacheat with his son , but Zach is an up and coming coach imo.

Gaines was a nice pick. The Rams gave up a lot to move up to get him, but who knows what his upside is. I wanted a TE in the draft, but the guys I liked were gone.
A DT/NT is a postion I’m really Happy The Rams finally drafted . When was the last time that has happened.I go back to when Hasselt was coaching. The Rams are a 3/4 defense which I love !! Clay Matthews & Fowler are cool to have right now. Then all the other young players that can develop year in & year out.

Just want to add I really think it’s cool The Rams drafted Nick Scott !!!

Man I think he is going to fit really good.People on the board talk about
Travis Rapp being a FS ??

My point is this !! Eric Weddle is a Stud !! He is a perfect role model mentor for Nick Scott to learn from !! You can’t teach speed, so Nick Scott has that to make plays others might not my learning the game. He is a special teams gem who can tackle. Changing to FS will fit his skill set. He has time to learn under a possible HOF FS ??

Travis Rapp seems to be more of a read & react type of safety. He is quick as heck !!
To be honest didn’t know much about him. McVay & Snead said enough to see what he is going to mean to The Rams defense.
He is going to be able to run down plays from behind. He takes excellent angles & flashed by O’lineman before they know it.

John Johnson has been excellent as a Ram FS . How much is he going to cost in 2 seasons ?? This just really settles the defensive backfield for years to come even if The Rams can’t afford to keep him ?? Could be franchised on the cheap & comp pick like a Joyner ??
