I think him having been in McvVays backyard, and his access to Lemon's coach, have probably answered, one way or another, any questions the Rams may have about his character.

I also would love to have Brown, (even if it meant losing Adams, who also carries a hefty price tag next year),
and don't necessarily share the angst over his character. I remember being less than thrilled when we picked up OBJ, and could not have been more wrong.

In addition, I was amazed at what a premier WR can do as opposed to a good or very good one.
He was a dog, and I think Brown is close to being as good, and has MORE dog in him.

Very off putting/weird/bizarre/take your pick interviews with teams at the Combine, to the point where it was reported that four teams who interviewed him have him off of their board completely. Even McShay made mention that Lemon’s interviews were “very weird”, although he also said that it won’t stop a team from drafting him in the first round because - and this is his quote - “about 50% of wide receivers are weird”.

And before you say that doesn’t really matter, a healthy reminder that James Pearce Jr. had no criminal record at the time he was interviewing for the Combine, but also had concerns about his character and his interviews were very off-putting. If you’re looking at past first round receivers with similar concerns about interviews but not exactly doing anything illegal at the time, Justin Blackmon and Jordan Addison are two other examples out of a lot of players I could make a mention of, but don’t have a computer to research it.

If the Rams have vetted Lemon and take him, I won’t say a word against it or any other pick they do. Truth be told, I honestly don’t give a shit what they do on draft day, don’t even know if I’m going to watch. I’m just the fucking messenger.
Though a great coach..... McVay is pretty weird himself. :dizzy:

I am guessing (like many here) that the Rams go Wide Receiver if they stick at #13.
And, like many here, Makai Lemon and Jordyn Tyson are strong possibilities.

I really like the tape of both players; and ... AGAIN ... like many, have concerns about Tyson's durability.

Now, I have heard and read many Reports about Lemon's poor interviews at the Combine; and thought that's disappointing and concerning. Finally, I have read many (not all) ROD comments about those Reports.

What I had NOT done ... UNTIL JUST NOW ... was watch and listen to Makai Lemon's entire Combine presser.

Curious about how many ROD posters, who have thought about and/or commented about these Reports, have Also listened and watched the entire Combine presser?

The reason ask is that ... after investing the 20 minutes to listen and watch his presser ... I have No concerns.
Personally, I thought the 21-year old came across just fine.

There are no character concerns just his interview at the combine threw people off and allegedly teams have said they won't draft him. Allegedly since nobody will come out and say it.
I think his interview was awkward but liked Tyson way more even before that. Maybe public speaking isn't his thing? I'm personally not going to knock him and just laugh about it as it was kinda funny. I'll let the Rams figure that part out. They have access we just don't.

We are also spoiled, having really solid and confident public speakers over the years, from Cooper Kupp to Jalen Ramsey to Matthew Stafford, Jared Verse, Kyren Williams and Davante Adams. Trent McDuffie looks like another good one, who can really speak on behalf of the team after a win or a loss. Lemon may just not be one of those guys.

Aaron Donald was not one of those guys.
Aaron was soft spoken, and often seemed a little uncomfortable speaking. He would repeat himself a lot; and often would say ... 'It's a Blessing' ... Something Lemon frequently said in his Combine presser.

Lemon talked about being competitive, working hard to improve his game and being all about football.
I think Aaron Donald would have agreed, and been proud of all that.

Yes it wasn't a typical interview for a football player. It could be he just isn't comfortable speaking on camera and it could be something to get over and he can be coached to get there. That should not at all affect his draft stock and the rumors that it affected some teams enough to take him completely off their boards is wild speculation and if a team really did that they deserve to be bad. To call that character concerns is also wild. That's legal issues drug issues and shit like that. Speaking issues or just being goofy are not character concerns.

Definitely agree, just wondering why folks are all of a sudden worried about a knee injury from 2022 that he's already overcome? I personally find it odd.
It's not just the knee injury for me. It's the combo of injuries. The nagging hamstring injury that affected his entire 2025 is concerning. Nothing says fragile body like nagging soft tissue injuries. When combined with a serious knee thing, I'm concerned.

Multi-ligament tear and soft tissue issues gets me squirrelly. Does anyone know if the hamstring strain was in the same leg?

Unless you're the doctor that did his knee surgery and see that it is somehow tied to his hamstring, I don't even know how you can make that comment. I don't know how many times NFL players with no injury history have literally pulled the hamstring. Stop acting like soft tissue injuries aren't a thing in the NFL.

Unless someone here has access to his medicals, no way to know if the 2 are even related. His knee injury happened in 2022 so its tied to something that happened 3 years prior? Too funny. I'll let the Rams medical team deal with that question.

We aren't talking about redrafting NFL players, because if we were, I'd be leery of those with nagging soft tissue injuries in those who also had a major tear injury.

Yeah, I think its overblown since he's still a young man and has come back from each injury balling his ass off. I'm sure whatever team gets him will have a program that will strengthen his lower body to do their best to prevent injury. It's football, they all carry a risk if any play goes wrong. I just want players that flash their talent big time on their tape and Tyson is the WR in this draft that does that best.

Nice.

FWIW, I think it’s a tad unreasonable/unrealistic for a football team to try really hard to fill its entire roster with nothing but likeable players. I imagine you might get your ass kicked on Sundays.

By all accounts, some of the greatest most successful athletes of all time across sports were unlikable.
