It's so bad its actually impressive what he's managed to do. Have the two best defensive players in the league and find ways to mismanage them along with the other good pieces.

His work in the secondary is like a horror movie you can't stop watching

Like I said - his defense only works against really shitty offensive teams like the Lions Texans and Giants

And the Lions even moved the ball from time to time

Hey it took great coaching to put Ramsey on Jauan Jennings and hold him to 1 catch for 3 yards

Let up 24 points. 3 over average. The offense underperformed by almost 20 points AND gave up a pick 6.

But… yeah.. the D is the big problem right now.

All that's true, but all points aren't the same.

Our D gave up two 90+ yard drives with the 9ers doing what the 9ers do. If anything, this isn't the heaviest running version we've seen from them, but when you only have two down linemen covering the four internal gaps and one or both of them are 1 gap... Kyle's smart enough to simply take that matchup ALL NIGHT.

So yeah, this is on Morris because this has become a pattern where even when faced with 22 personnel, he's in a pass rushing set and only changed when it was clear that Kyle wasn't just running it down our throat but using the EXACT SAME PLAY multiple times in a row and we just couldn't stop it.

Now, if someone punches me in the face once... I'm gonna try to make that not happen again, but the color guy last night said at one point, it looked like they ran the exact same play to either side, but the same play like 6 times in a row and it wasn't until he went 4 DL plus the outside LBs before we stopped it.

I mean, what's so hard to understand about keeping a heavy box against the 9ers?

18 play, 11 minute drive? That's a damn gut punch and we never really recovered.

And we still coulda battled back, but the rest of the team was off as well, but the biggest takeaway from this game for the other teams in the NFL is that we just refuse to load a heavy box to stop the run even if you show 22 personnel.

It's like in 2018 when teams would run that 6-1 against us. It's a schematic problem that EVERYONE ran in 2019 until we figured it out.

Well, for the rest of the year, expect teams big and small to at least TRY to RAM it down our throats. Some teams won't have the players to do it, but all the ones that matter to us CAN and WILL.

Can you imagine the shit kicking we got coming if the Cards run the Kyle game plan against us??? It'll be an epic wrecking unless we get this fixed over the break.

I think the O will be fine. I think the D is schematically a HUGE problem going forward.

That’s because Morris thinks every opposing coach is Sean McVay

The 49ers did what they always do. Play it safe. High percentage short throws. A lot of runs. They just said "Here we are. We're not going to fool you. We're smashing it down your throat and you can't stop us." And the Rams wilted. How many other teams are gonna take that approach when they play us?

All of them probably.

Running a big nickel package against two TE sets with a FB is just mind blowing. Not sure how mcVay doesn't get involved into the scheme of the defense and say ENOUGH!

I guess he has his own issues on offense.

The 9ers have owned the Rams for almost three years now, no matter the DC, and we're on number 3.

Know what's been the same? McVay.

I think the D will be more than fine, but, obviously, they had no idea what to do with the 9ers.

When are people going to realize that the majority of these rankings are geared to fantasy footballers and not the real NFL. Anyone who actually watched the games could see there are real problems with Morris' scheme. This is a perfect example of coach and scheme failure not players. This defense has elite players with 3 probable HOFers among them.

The Rams have a DC who simply has no clue how to use these guys. He wastes their best coverage CB in blitzes? Are you fucking kidding me? He weakens the secondary for a low percentage play?

Fire Morris and hire someone like John Pagano. McVay ask Miller how good John Pagano is.
