We could easily be 4-1, despite having half our starting offence missing and a young, inexperienced defence with arguably the worst linebackers in football.

Imagine what we could do once everyone is back on offence, the defence gets more experience and the ILBs are replaced?

If we can win ten of our last twelve games, that could well be enough to win the division.

And then anything can happen.

Obviously we aren't winning out, but the spirit of this thread, I 100% agree with.

This week the Niners play the Chiefs....could they win? Definitely. But I'm not sure Shanahan has ever beaten Reid. Seattle plays at the Falcons, and after that hot start they have been exposed. The Cardinals play the Chargers who have looked good.

Just for kicks, lets play it all out:

Cardinals:

Chargers - L
@Dolphins - W
Bears - W
Jets - W
@Seahawks - L
@vikings - L
Seahawks - W
Patriots - W
@Panthers - W
@rams - L
Niners - L

This is probably the best case scenario for the Cardinals, and they end up at 8-9, 3-3 in division

Seahawks:

@Falcons - L
Bills - L
Rams - W
@Niners - L
Cardinals - W
@Jets - L
@Cardinals - L
Packers - W
Vikings - L
@Bears - W
@rams - L

Can flip some of the wins and losses around, but this feels close to what will happen for Seattle. Maybe best case they get two more wins, either way that's a max of 9-8. I think they finish 7-10 though.

Niners:

Chiefs - L
Cowboys - W
@Bucs - L
Seahawks - W
@Packers - L
@Bills - L
Bears - W
Rams - W
@Dolphins - W
Lions - L
@Cardinals - W

That would put them at 9-8, 4-2 in division - and that feels like their floor. They could easily beat one of the Chiefs, Lions or Bucs and go 10-7 or better. But for this exercise, we will say they finish 9-8.

Rams:

Raiders - W
Vikings - W
@Seahawks - L
Dolphins - W
@Patriots - W
Eagles - W
@Saints - W
Bills - W
@Niners - L
@Jets - L
Cardinals - W
Seahawks - W

10-7, division champs

Look at the road games remaining - the three "difficult" ones, we lose - and we could easily beat the Seahawks and Jets. The Patriots are bad, and either Derek Carr plays for the Saints who have never beaten us, or he doesn't and they are bad too.

Conversely will the Vikings, Eagles and Bills be tough at home? Definitely. This is optimistic and obviously the odds are somewhat stacked against us. But maybe we ride some momentum after winning this week into Thursday night, which is a long trip for the Vikings, who will have a tough and physical game against the Lions this week. Maybe we split with the Eagles/Bills but sweep Seattle. The Jets certainly don't look like juggernauts now either.

4 day window starting with the Raider game then 4 days to the Vikings. That's brutal for a young team.

Three, 1 score losses to teams who are in the top 4 in scoring differential. This team can still get on a roll with the return of injured stars, but we need them back sooner than later. Is there any update on Avila, Nacua and Jackson?

Yeah this really pisses me off, they couldn't find a way to schedule the TNF game after the bye instead of a week later to subject them to a 4 day week?

I wonder if Mcvay should have kept Avalia at Center ? B. Limmer was an excellent draft pick though.

That first game against Detroit with Puka going down looked so Hopeless!! It was like only if he could get back on the field.Especially after how 2023 season ended.

IMO The Rams season of making the playoffs is over ? There is an extra game (17),but history already tells us that ? Should be fun watching this Rams team though.

I continue to get pissed at Rams Fans for blame The Defense!! I can only blame Sean Mcvay this season. I yelled so much & Da Bears are the beneficiaries of his poor play calling.

Yes & Green Bay as well.Inhave to LOL at Kevin Demoff though as far as getting his wish of Green Bay at home.Matt vs. Mike Lafleur . At least Mcvay could help his OC out ?
Then again who really knows ?

If they could do it for ALL teams, absolutely. Otherwise, the competitive advantage of extending one team's bye week another 3 full days isn't likely to go down well, is it ?

TNF is a cynical exercise in greed, obviously. Utterly hypocritical for a league that claims to be all about player health & competitive fairness.

That said, I think this bye/TNF schedule, apart from coming a couple of weeks earlier than ideal ( clearly not nearly the negative it could have been cuz of the carnage), is pretty advantageous, imo, all things considered. I'd happily swap MINN for AZ or the like, but , as my Gran used to say, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride...lol....otherwise;

-Home game before & two after so no time lost to travel at all.

-Plenty of time for staff to design game-specific stuff for both opponents during the bye. The NFL prep between games is mostly on 3 days & above-the-neck, anyway, no ?

-I think the lost recovery time between the two games is compensated for by the rest before & after, especially if you don't have to travel. One time that a young roster really helps, imo. And the few geezers like Stafford & hopefully Kupp will know how to handle it .

This is starting to look like 2022. Everyone picking us to be a legit contender. Injuries derailed everything. Then 2023 everyone picked us to be finishing with a losing record. We make the playoffs. So of course everyone picking us to be a legit contender this season. Injuries derailing us again.

Next year they will be predicting a 5 win season for us. We will win 13 games and go on to be Superbowl champs again. Aaron Donald will get the itch to play again and make the game saving sack. Be patient. Its coming.
I’d be okay with that

I don't think very highly of the Bears, and its difficult for me to imagine them going into Arizona and winning. Seattle, fair point - and in both cases you can easily move some Ws and Ls around

How "screwy" is the NFC West?

The Cardinals have the best division (2-0) and conference (2-3) record.
Seattle is winless in the division (0-1) and conference (0-3).
1.5 games separate #1 from #4.

Not just our div neither. Its the entire conf. What I noticed is the NFC West and East have dropped off and became bad. We are now the East LMAO. North has become our Division and East became South. South is now what the north was. NFC North right now is the best Div in Football. Behind them is AFC West.
