I'm saving up my cans and bottles. I wonder how much it would cost to name it SNACKDADDY STADIUM? Maybe the concessions would be SNACKDADDY ROW. They could have a game show called WHO'S YOUR SNACKDADDY?

SoFi Stadium has a ring to it. Sounds very Hollywood. Though I have no idea what the heck SoFi is.

Friggin' Frisco-ites!

Let's go home school and call it Whittier "The Rent is Too Damn High" Field after my hometown!

Which High School? La Serna for me.
I believe I used to swim at La Serna in the summer sometimes....Where I lived, Monte Vista was the closest High School, but it was closed in 1980. Cal High was the only HS in Whittier (I think!)

Cal, Whittier High, La Serna all remained in Whittier after Monte Vista closed (after my freshman year). A lot of Monte Vista students came to La Serna the following year. Cal wasn't that far either, and had the district football stadium. La Serna however was right next door to the golf course that the golfing programs all used.

Well, I left Whittier forever when I was 12 years old in 1976....So I wasn't aware exactly where La Serna was because I wasn't driving back then and I can't remember Whittier High at all! I do remember that Cal High had the Condors and Monte Vista had the Mustangs. I never understood why an old HS like Cal High wasn't closed and the fairly new Monte Vista was....

If it is SoFi then SoFi Stadium is quick and easy to get out of the way. Welcome to the home of the Los Angeles Rams SoFi Stadium.

yes... let's name our new, beautiful, battering ram of a stadium... "Sophie".

Very Californian.

Politics, mainly. Location somewhat, but mainly politics.

If they were going to close a school because of its age and decrepitness, Whittier High was by far the oldest. There was pressure to close La Serna, but since it was in Friendly Hills the rich neighborhood that wasn't going to happen, and it was in good repair anyway.

I have $5 if they name the stadium "ROD Field". Anybody else willing to chip in?

Banks, telecoms and oil companies. The name is just another commercial.

You might appreciate this...I live in Kansas now and live in a small town of 542 people and have a part time job in a town of 28,000. One of my co-workers commented that she didn't know much about tornados, but did know a lot about earthquakes. With a little bit more conversation, I found that she grew up in Whittier....what are the odds?
