The city that spent 16MIL because Demoff and the NFL said "keep trying to get the stadium built" while they were packing their bags. The city that Kroenke insulted and lied about in relo papers that he fought to keep from the public eye because of the backlash (well deserved) he knew he would get once the media and the public and yeah the city saw what he said.

From my understanding, Demoff and Kroenke said not to bother long ago. The NFL also had Grubman going on St Louis radios saying it wasn't good enough, but the Task Force continued to push and push, and blame the NFL for anything bad that happened. They tried to blame the NFL for foregoing the vote, which then Grubman corrected. There were reports saying part of why Kroenke put the city on blast in his relocation bid was directly because he was pissed off at the Task Force talking shit about him to fellow owners, and because they kept pushing when he said he wanted LA.

Kroenke had no reason to lie to the task force, the better they did the harder it made it for him to move for LA. He certainly had no reason to encourage the task force to skip bidding and just give our huge overpriced contracts to friends instead of letting there be a competition. The task force, however, had every reason to lie to the public about their chances, because if they had no public support they would have crashed and burned long before a vote was up.

@OldSchool the media and fans aren't the ones involved here, it's the city that he refused to meet with and lied to for a long, long time through Demoff. Demoff was straight up asked where he thought the Rams would be playing football next season and he straight up lied and said he expected it would be STL. That's a direct quote from the interview. So maybe Kroenke wasn't lying, that's fair to say because we don't know what he said in the one meeting he had, with someone I cannot recall. But every step of the way there was either silence or some form of encouragement coming from the Rams, and the NFL, up until the end.

I don't believe Kroenke blasted the city for any other reason than he wanted to make everything look as bleak as possible. I don't recall anyone in the task force talking shit about him, only members of the media and fans.

I'm sure it isn't but that's no matter.

It would have been REALLY easy to say thanks to the fans of STL for all the great years and the support.

He couldn't even muster up that, neither could Demoff. It was really poor of them. As in embarrassing.

Kroenke and Demoff said it was "bittersweet".

Same thing, no?

Wow. I cannot believe an admin hasn't deleted this or at the very least told you to tone it down.

This was really classless and calling someone a "fucktard" is so immature I don't even know what to say other than grow up. The city is trying to recover an asset, it has nothing to do with degrading anything.

You're dead wrong and really should rethink this...........

Really Les? Like your the enigma of what maturity is? My comment was directed not at the city or the STL fans or people from the area it was to the shit head media like bernie etc. that keep trying to drudge up anything shitty on the team to make them look bad.

Apparently everybody who read and or liked the comment understood what it meant so I clarified it for you.

When was the interview with Demoff? Just curious.

The Task Force reportedly talked a lot of shit about him to his fellow owners, who then turned around and told him what they said. Additionally, Peacock himself suggested that they may force out Kroenke as an owner and get a new ownership in place to keep the Rams in St Louis. I remember that vividly because I felt it was incredibly arrogant and stupid of him to say such a thing. There was an article that came out shortly after the relocation that detailed some of why he blasted the city.

I feel bad for St. Louis, but..

"We didn't get our way, so give us $19,000,000".

Ummm, no.

That's not at all what's happening. St. Louis wants to sell the property. They can't do that with the Rams controlling that option. They want the Rams to relinquish that option since the Rams chose to bail on St. Louis after making them spend millions to jump through the hoops of presenting a new stadium that the Rams never seriously considered.

Seems pretty fair to me. The Rams are the ones in the wrong here.

Wow...

Man I do not miss this place. Or this team. At all.

SK isn't man enough to just let this go. He's petty and cruel and probably incredibly vindictive. He got his bloody team, his stupid stadium deal, without being out more than a few pennies and from gasoline to move this damn team.

There's been enough lies, deceit, false hope, dragging the city through the mud, shitting on the fans, what have you, legal or not, to pursue keeping the land in a state you clearly don't give a shit about after a certain way you describe it....

Let the state figure out something to do with it. Maybe a training facility in the future for an MLS team. Or whatever else.

Apparently everybody who read and or liked the comment understood what it meant so I clarified it for you.

Yea, all four of em right? What a vast backing of buddies you have in an incredibly awful worded response.

If your a city fan and not a Rams fan why are you even here then? Your just trying to start useless nonsense. Tired of this over sensitivity bs and the city whistle blowers taking every pop shot and opportunity to run somebody through the mud cause your feelings are hurt. I'm sorry the team left man but it wasn't up to me and I'm not a block headed 'LA' pundit so get off my back.

Well, he purchased land in Missouri during the stadium drama, which some deluded souls thought he acquired for a possible stadium of his own, if LA fell through...Just saying, he does like buying, holding, using Missouria land for his business. Now you blame him for possibly gaining land to which he is entitled to? Your words above say nothing about stupid civic leaders who made the deal? C'mon man.

btw..soccer sucks.

Only to the uneducated.

Reading skills help, man. Never said I blamed him for the deal. The city clearly had morons helming this deal, but this akin to not only stealing the kid's lunch money, but throwing a giant bag of horse turds at him after the fact. I said he was petty and cruel and isn't man enough to just let the state have land for development or sale to recoup just a small percentage of their loses because it would be the right thing to do. Maybe not the "evil corporate business man" thing to do, but the right thing to do, considering how very little he actually cares for the city of St. Louis and Missouri at large.

And @jrry32 and @RamzFanz and @LesBaker said it succinctly. Don't need to rehash that.

I'd rather brain myself than "mount you."

I still haven't seen anything to suggest that Stan has actually told the city that he wants the land.

We'll see what the outcome of the legal dispute is. But you can be legally right and morally wrong. And that doesn't make you any less of a shitty person.

He actually allocated or is trying to allocate the land for a STL version of Playboy Mansion for this Secsy dude named Corbin :)
