Brockers pass rushing could improve even more this year but you may never notice it because of Quinn, Donald, and a healthy Long. I mean the guy is competing for sacks against guys that are some of the best in thebusiness

Lolz. Brockers was moved over center in order to allow AD to play the 3 tech. He handled the move with class and did exactly what they asked of him. Even Wagner got this one right.

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-ra...bet-that-rams-pick-up-michael-brockers-option

"The Rams asked Brockers to handle more of a nose tackle position, with his primary task to line up over the center and take on multiple blockers to create more favorable matchups for Donald playing the three-technique. That was a departure from the traditional left and right tackle assignments that he had played since arriving in St. Louis.

The result was a career low in sacks (two) and a second-lowest output in tackles (32). Moving Brockers hurt his numbers, but it helped the rest of the defense get rolling over the final half of the season when the Rams went from the bottom of the league in sacks to near the top.

Playing nose tackle is a thankless job that likely won't bring many eye-popping statistics or much attention, but in Brockers' case, his efforts aren't likely to go unnoticed by the Rams."

Let's also not forget who Brockers was. The guy came into the league as a Marmaduke.

At 20 years of age, the guy was 6'6" and 325#. He'd barely stopped growing. Maybe. There's NO WAY that he'd fully gotten acclimated to his new body. Each year at LSU, he had a different body. Very different.

So, when the Rams drafted him, in large part, it was based on the IMMENSE amount of potential he showed coupled with his character and how young he was doing the MAN things he was doing.

None of that mitigates that he was as young as he was still getting acclimated to his own body, let alone the speed of the NFL. This was always a project with Brockers.

Brockers was NEVER, ever going to be a breakout guy like Donald who from the start looked like a savvy, 5 year vet.

However, entering year 4, Brockers has the strength, speed and savvy to now play both the NT and 3 tech positions. Last, year, he was a bit new to it and did it with a high ankle sprain which can make that double tough. And he toughed it out. Don't think for a minute the Rams didn't notice. They noticed enough to let the other big, Kendall Langford go and get another penetrator type in Nick Fairley. That says a helluva lot because I think the Rams may actually try to keep them all which is why they let Langford go. If Fairley is a one year rental, then fine, but they know what they have in Brockers and he's not going anywhere.

I am outraged at this ... this filth.

If anything, he's underrated for selflessly taking on the nose tackle role, which helped our speedy rookie excel at his game.
