Have we ever beaten the Vikes in their house?
Anyone know what our record is in Minnesota?
(I'm already having Bud Grant flashbacks....can still remember Fran Tarkenton running all over the place. )

After becoming a RAMS fan on the day they blocked Donny Anderson's punt in 1967, I recall seeing highlights on CBS of the RAMS winning in Bloomington in the snow in 1968, 31-3. That was a RAMS team that finished 10-3-1 and out of the playoffs while the 8-6 Queens won the 'Black and Blue' Division. SMH. Very much enjoyed watching the telecast in 1978 when the RAMS won 34-17 and chased Franny from the game, only to see him forced to return when Jim Youngblood WWE body-slammed Tommy Kramer. Then the RAMS won in the Coliseum in the NFC divisional playoffs for a 2-0 season sweep of the purple pansies. And, when the dykes were on the verge of setting an NFL record for fewest rushing yards allowed in a season, Steven Jackson, behind a dominant O Line performance, ran for 142 and 3 TD as the RAMS won in the Humpty dome to close out the 2006 season, as I had the pleasure of watching them deny the chokers that record.

Last time we got overconfident when an opposing team lost their starting star Running Back-the Titans throttled us. Lets not get too overconfident here. The Vikings have alot of talent and good coaching and their playoff lives are at stake

I was watching that game on TV when I saw Kramer get hit. I remember him having convulsions on the ground which the announcers commented on, they were alarmed but it turned out to not be that serious, think it was a concussion. A dvd has been out for several years of that game but it's only a partial, doesn't have that play, or the 4th quarter.

Trivia: At that game they were filming a short scene for the movie "Foolin' Around" with a younger Gary Bussey and he was in the stands for the shot that's in the movie. He says to another actor "I don't think it's the Vikings day today..." :laugh2:

Justin Jefferson breaking records in second season with Minnesota Vikings

Despite all the historical greats the Minnesota Vikings have had at wide receiver over the franchise’s 60-year history, Justin Jefferson is on pace to do something no other player has done before. An accomplishment that Anthony Carter, Cris Carter, and not even Randy Moss could achieve in their storied careers.

Just 30 games into his NFL career, Jefferson is putting up stats no other player in the NFL’s 100-year history has done before. On Sunday, he has a chance to break another record. Jefferson is just 21 yards away from passing Odell Beckham Jr. for the most receiving yards in a receiver’s first two NFL seasons.

Most receiving yards in a player’s first two seasons

  1. Odell Beckham Jr. – 2,755 receiving yards
  2. Justin Jefferson – 2,735 receiving yards
  3. Randy Moss – 2,726 receiving yards
  4. Bill Groman – 2,648 receiving yards
  5. Jerry Rice – 2,497 receiving yards
Jefferson will undoubtedly surpass OBJ when the Vikings take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, but what are some other records the Pro Bowl receiver could also achieve?

Most receptions in a player’s first two seasons

  1. Michael Thomas – 196 catches
  2. Jarvis Landry – 194 catches
  3. Christian McCaffrey – 187 catches
  4. Odell Beckham Jr. – 187 catches
  5. Justin Jefferson – 177 catches
While no one will catch up to Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp’s 1,625 receiving yards this season, Jefferson is his closest competitor at 1,335 yards. Keep in mind, the Rams operate a pass-first offense, the Vikings would cringe at the idea under Mike Zimmer. Although, Kirk Cousins does actually have four more passing attempts than Matthew Stafford, which indicates some leniency on Zimmer’s part.

Many were surprised to see Jefferson put up the rookie numbers that he did. Now that the tape is out, some wanted to see if he could do it again. It hasn’t mattered. Jefferson is a game-changing impact playmaker that cannot be held back and has actually improved upon his stats as a rookie.
  • Justin Jefferson stats (rookie) – 88 receptions, 1,400 yards, 7 TD, 58 first downs (16 games, 14 starts)
  • Justin Jefferson stats (2021) – 89 receptions, 1,335 yards, 9 TD, 64 first downs (14 starts)
Entering Week 16, Jefferson leads the NFL with 14.3 yards per touch. It’s yet another reminder that defenders simply cannot contain him on the football field. If he can keep up his dominant performances, there’s no reason why we won’t mention Jefferson with the all-time greats as his career nears the end. But for now, Jefferson is 100% deserving of being considered one of the best wide receivers in football

Man, this guy goes all in with game prep. That shit must have taken hours to put together. Impressive. However, his conclusion that us getting Van Jefferson involved early is the key to our victories is more then a bit off IMO.

Way to go Kirk and Dalvin. You may as well closed any playoff shot b/c of this.

If I'm a Vikings fans I'm pissed like no other.
The one thing these unvaxed players missed is that the end goal was to keep all games on schedule and teams at full strength. It wasn’t about control.
If the transitive property worked in the NFL then this will have been worth the effort. But it’s just a big waste of time.

I’m not worried about us fans getting overconfident.

Cousins is a great QB in the Red Zone. Hopefully we don't let them consistently march in to our RZ.

Vikings are Jekyll and Hyde... I hope the bad version shows up.

That being said... the Rams are building a positive identity.. I hope they keep the running balance with Michel and don't turn the ball over.
They're getting players back.. and may benefit from others getting reps... I'm looking at Kendal Blanton, for sure.. and David Long and Nick Scott. Maybe... MAYBE.. some players are starting to click. That would be awesome.

We have to take full advantage of the Vikings defense.
They are ranked toward the bottom of the league in giving up
an average of 4.7 yds per carry. I want to see Sony running around 25 times this game.
Their pass defense is some what middle of the pack.
Run Sony - set up play action- move the pocket at times.
Hopefully getting their offense in catch up mode.

David Ray,
Heh, I remember the Blocked Punt game. It was a guy named Tony Guillery if I recall correctly.
Thanks for your input on the games that the Rams have prevailed in The People's Republic of Minnesota.
Let's hope the Rams prevail again this Sunday.
Obtw I certainly remember David Ray. He was a decent place kicker and he used the old fashioned straight on style.
Thanks again for the trip down memory lane.

I don’t expect this game to be a gimme, especially with the short week and the Vikings’ Jekyll and Hyde nature

I think the Vikes are getting us at a bad time. If I'm Zimmer my goal is to stuff the Rams' run so well early on that McVay drops it entirely and goes pass happy.

But honestly if we lose this game it's gonna be mostly due to the Rams just shitting the bed. Defense playing like shit, Stafford throwing INTs, special teams gaffes, etc. They should win this one the way they have been playing. Players gotta do what they're capable of here.
