Well...there's no doubt Seattle has looked at both games with the Panthers and Bears to pick up something. Trouble is...the Rams are looking at it too so they can clean up and prepare.

Some things are already in place. Just like in the Bears game adjustments. Particularly blitzes. Remember the 3rd & 6 in overtime vs the Bears? They blitzed that time and Puka was the hot read and picked up 16 yards. Those type of "in game" adjustments will allow you to burn the blitz.

I already know McVay, Stafford and the WRs are working on such things. I'll definitely be watching Stafford to see how he audibles Sunday.
I think McVay baited Dennis Allen there. Aligned Puka inside in a tight split. Allen loved that blitz earlier in the game because it's easy to disguise and the CB is aligned just outside the edge rusher. McVay guessed that Allen would blitz and knew there was no chance a deep safety could stop Puka from getting the first there.

Walker is a much more dynamic RB and is on fire right now. They can ride him for 1 game. I don't think this injury hurts them unless they fall behind (Charbs is the better pass protector), or if Walker gets hurt (and he is indeed injury prone). The more he sees the field, the worse for us. Not sure this injury actually benefits us. Hopefully we can jump out to a lead. Darnold having to throw a lot more than they want, with an oblique injury, and their best pass blocking RB out, would be huge.
Walker has been good recently but he has gotten in the doghouse with that staff because he has a bad habit of not taking the 1 yard gain if that’s all thats there. He’ll try and turn a 1 yard gain into a 12 yard gain and end up taking a 4 yard loss. That’s why Charbs gets the bulk of the goalline carries. They know they can hand it to him on 2nd and goal from the 2 and the worst outcome will be 3rd and goal from the 2. Walker will try and reverse field or something and make it 3rd and goal from the 6. We got to make him pay when he does that.

I don't think the Rams necessarily need to score 30+ points to grind out a win in this game.

Game one with the hawks the final score was:

Rams 21
Hawks 19

If the defense plays like they did in Chicago, thiere could very well be an outcome with a similar lower scoring game. In my opinion, I think this will be the more likely outcome, again assuming the defense kicks some ass.
Just to ensure a low scoring game I chose a high number for the tie breaker in the Confidence Pool. No way either team gets 30 now.

As the game goes onOrlovsky just talked about this on NFL Live. We HAVE to be better on this. Carolina got us with some of the same pressure looks. Seattle is going to have their slot corners coming from all over the place. IMO if we handle these pressure looks well, we will score 35+.

I'm not so sure Stafford agreed with McVay's calls against the Bears. It seemed to me if McVay had shortened up the routes first, he would have been able to call the intermediate routes better. I mean...you have two good sized WRs in Puka and Adams. You hit those guys with 5-10 yard passes forcing the Bear CBs to tackle them. Both were more likely to break loose for more yards.

It was like McVay turned into the "Mad Passer" most of the 1st half after the 1st TD...and it helped keep the Bears close.

Games like the Hawks had can fuck with their heads. Make them get a little full of themselves.
What fucks with their heads is they're the #1 defense in points (17.2 PPG) and #6 defense in yards (285.6 yds/g) but the team coming to town has averaged 121 yards rushing per game, 293 yards passing (414 total) and 29 PPG. Oh yeah, and the fact Sammy is 29-7 the last two years and 3 of the losses (out of 4 GP) are to this team. There's plenty to fuck with their heads. And it may get worse as the game progresses.

No doubt, if the Rams play solid for 4 quarters in all three phases of the game, they can beat any team. However, the last the last time they played four solid quarters in a game was against the Lions. Seahawks are a very good team but if the Rams start hot and finish hot, I believe they will win. Even if they struggle a little bit at times in the game.

Thank the football gods! I thought maybe Puka got banged up, he didn’t seem to have that same pep in his step as usual for a good portion of the game. Also Stafford was really grimacing after one of those sacks late in the game, glad he’s okay.
I lived in Chicago until I was 18. As a kid we would play tackle football in freezing temps like 10 degrees trying to imitate the pros. That ground was hard too, so I know Stafford felt some pain, especially with guys hitting him as he trying to recover a fumble.

Anyhow, as a kid after games like that, it was great to come home to mom's oxtail stew with hot cornbread to warm us up..:thumbsup1:

Yeah, I think it was Chris Long who said on his podcast about the one sack, where Stafford fell on the ball, that in those conditions he was lucky that he didn't crack a rib. I guess because the ball is hard and the frozen ground being hard.

Agree, he is reading too much into it. Rams & Seattle know each other well so it's going to require some change ups in the tendancies.

When you think about it, the Rams are probably the most battle tested. Over the last two years......and I realize not everybody has been here the last 2 years........we've played a 14-3 team in the Wild Card (at home), a 15-3 team in the snow in Philly, in the weather in Carolina against a feisty 8-9 team (okay not such a huge test), a 12-6 team in the snow and weather in Chicago. And now we get another 15-3 team on the road. That's a lot of good teams in their environment. But this should feel warmer than a trip up to Santa Clara......but we'll find out for sure in a few weeks.
Yeah man. I have a weird calmness at this point, like this is the game I felt they needed to be in. Up in Seattle for all the marbles and maybe some payback. Totally not worried.

We may get our asses beat, always possible. But for some reason I feel really confident for this one in a way I was not confident last week.
