I don't think the victory was nearly as 'ho-hum' as some portend. We pretty much took them to the woodshed.
Santos missed a FG. We also settled for 3 more FGs as McVay went uber-conservative, but had he opted to be more aggressive...or if we needed the points...I think we could have easily put up another 30 spot.
Meanwhile, if you take away the 7 gifted points at the end, we held them in check pretty good.
Considering it was back-to-back road games, after the knock-down drag-out fight in Seattle, and travelling to the high altitude and below freezing temps, along with some key injuries, and your typical 2018 officiating, I think it was a solid showing!
I'll spare you all my full recap and analysis, but Goff didn't play as bad as some will say. And there were some bright spots on Defense as well (not named Troy Hill).
Good Victory Rams!
Should be a full week of ice baths and massages, before we play another divisional game...no rest for the weary.
All in all, I think they played very well (cold, altitude, away game, etc.). I am not going to become spoiled to the point that I let myself down if they don't dominate every game and win by 21.
It wasn't very long ago that this team was the definition of mediocre.
A win is a win... there's no such thing as an ugly win... just win, baby! Whatever cliche you prefer... I'm just glad they won and I think they overcame a lot of challenges.
I am very happy with how they handle whatever is thrown at them... sometimes, it's not much... and sometimes it's quite a bit (like yesterday).
It's just plain good to be a Rams fan right now... I'm savoring every minute.
I was wondering why he was huffing and puffing more - I didn't think of the altitude! That would explain it!!
I recently played golf in Breckenridge, CO.
Granted DEN is "only" about 5200 feet, I'm sure it's hard to play in.
Breckenridge is 9600 feet and our entire golf group struggled. A small upgrade left you gasping for air. You don't sleep soundly... you are fatigued... hell, even our drinking volume was down!
From what I read, it takes approximately four days for your body to acclimate itself to the altitude.
It's not like these Rams players have ever played in higher altitudes before.
