Game Day Thread

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember our core principles; we always show respect for our team and each other.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and each other.

This is the core rule of the GDT. Moderators are tasked to issue thread bans, at a minimum, to maintain this standard.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad. We are here for FUN, not to be dragged down.

A more loosely moderated atmosphere can be found in the chat room.

Go Rams!

For all of you old guys who remember where you were when the Rams last faced the Bears in the playoffs:

IMG_5288.webp I was standing watch up in the Arctic Circle listening to the game on the bridge, (thanks to one of the officers picking up the game somehow via whatever satellite technology was available then) Not a great experience. It would be years before I actually watched the replay on TV. Still have never watched it all the way through.

But the weather, and temperatures were a bit colder for me than Deiter Brock and ED.

Then…

IMG_5287.webp …after that 4 month trip We pulled back into port. Pier 36 Seattle. For those of you not familiar, it is 3-4 blocks from what used to be the Kingdome, now Lumen field. I used to walk to Mariner games when we were in Port. Then…

IMG_5289.webp I went home on leave to my home in the Bay Area, around 15 miles south of Candlestick, now 15 miles North of that craphole Levi’s stadium.

Let’s hope, 40 years later our Rams follow the same literal path I did, and win a Lombardi.

Starts today. Chicago focused. Let’s Goooooooo!!

Edit: I am not advocating the Rams plane land in Barrow, Alaska looking to face the Bears**

So we're completely healthy.
The McVay family isn't expecting any new additions
We're coming off a win
And the temperature is going to be LOW.
Not a reason I can see where we shouldn't win!!!!

NOTE: The win is the most important thing, of course, but on an individual level, Stafford needs a 300 yard passing game to tie 8 other QBs for 2nd in consecutive 300 yard passing games in the postseason (3), 1 behind the leader Dan Fouts. (Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Tom Brady, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger, Josh Allen)

DARN THE COLD...FULL SPEED AHEAD!!! I'm expecting the Rams to come out and HANDLE BUSINESS!!! To the point where those fans in the stands will ask each other "isn't it cold out here"? Why are these California boys whipping our Bears like this"

The score that hits me is Rams 27 Bears 19

I'm in Chicago for a while and my whole family up here are Bears fans...I WANT BRAGGING RIGHTS!!!

GO RAMS!!! Get the first score and never look back!!!!

We need Special Teams to be really good today. I've been hearing about the failure of the Rams STs on Chicago sports radio all week. To be fair STs have been better except for the punt block at Carolina last week. Otherwise, they've done well...but know the Bears will be aggressive in that area.
