We're a shade better overall than the 2017 11-5 team and a step behind the 2018 13-3 team. We'll finish 12-4 this year & go 14-2 or 15-1 next year.

This is for you OS... :beer2:

Did you guys really think we were gonna run the table after losing our LT who was playing at an elite level? C'mon man. Would you have been happier if we lost to Tampa but beat the crap out of the Whiners? Well me too. But it didn't go down that way.

We're gonna get Whit back. We still have a fine defense. The Rams do have a couple young players who could figure things out down the stretch and give them a boost in Akers and Jefferson. And again we're 7-4 and in the playoff and division lead hunt.

Can I get a Kumbaya up in here????

I really didn't think losing Andrew Whitworth has affected them all that much. Looks pretty much the same to me.

I know teams that have strong records lose to teams with lesser records all the time. Don't like how they lost yesterday tho. But whatever, moving on.

The problem with the Rams is they seem to play up or down to their competition. Look at the Giants and 49ers games.
IMO Tampa was the Chiefs game for us from the looks of it and looks like we (again) overlooked the 9ers. Because who would have thought they would have beat us twice this year with a bunch of backups playing. Take a look at the Eagles, the first two seasons under McVay we had a similar problem. The Eagles played with a banged up secondary with not ONE starter and gave us fits. This is COACHING. McVay is not changing up his game planning and it shows against certain opponents. And it's the same reason why we look like rock stars one week and Fisher Rams the next. You have to remember some of these Defensive coordinators are just as stubborn as McVay and wont change their game plan to do what gives our offense issues. Hope that made sense. lol.
It's gonna be tough sledding from here on out, yes our schedule is favorable and yes we should win out from here but beating Division opponents is never easy, and lets face it the Cards are a pretty good team.

I will end it saying this. McVay isn't in-expendable, if he can't seem to get his team to make adjustments based upon who's he is playing then we're never going to win a SB with him. Just saying, it's the exact reason why we lost the SB.

McVay is going to win multiple Super Bowls. I just hope the Rams are smart enough to keep him around so they're with us.

Problem is a lot of young coaches don't win a SB until their 2nd or 3rd job. It's their pride that gets them canned. I'm in no way saying i want this to happen, but if we endure another two seasons of this crap. He'll be on the hot seat before you know it.

Another problem is Goff. Lets be honest. The kid is not progressing, and I hope McVay is smart enough to start exploring options at that position, because for as much as Goff is getting paid he needs to be laying like a top 5 to 7 QB. and He's not

I think McVay is in Belichick's class. And had the Browns not been fucking stupid they would have been the organization with all those Super Bowl wins.

I'm happy that we found a long-term - in my honest opinion - kicker in Gay. I'm happy with the way Noteboom has played; he needs to start more at left/right tackle or at least as an eligible receiver. I'm happy with the defense; we held strong until that last field goal

And most of all, I'm happy to have a winning record. I still think we're going to win the Super Bowl, so I'm holding on to hope. That's all us fans can do, right? Hope things turn out for the best.

Since I've been supporting the Rams (1988) we are 230-292 in the regular season.
That's an average of 7-9.
9 winning seasons out of 32.

If we capture two more wins this season it will be the first time since I have supported the Rams that we will have had four winning seasons in a row.

IMO as a franchise we are in the strongest position we have ever been on and off the field. We are no longer a laughing stock. We are to be feared and there are more positives than negatives with this current group.

Here is my (humble) dose of reality and expectation. I expect Jared Goff to continue to develop. Peeps act like the legendary QB's of yesteryear never had horrible games. Look at Peyton Manning in the year they lost the SB to Seattle. Do I expect Jared Goff to become a legend? Idk, that's iffy. Maybe. More likely he could be in the hall of fame some day but not be in that super elite top tier conversation.

Equally as likely as above that he never progresses past what we see now—a streaky QB that has equal potential for greatness and mediocrity.

Listen, he is #2 in wins as a QB since 2017 behind only the goat. Now I understand that wins are more a team stat than individual one; however, one doesn't win that many games with a bad QB.

Ok, I'm glad that i got that out of the way. Now for the rest of the team.

Losing Big Whit. Ok, Noteboom has done a great job of pass protection with little to no drop off in production in that regard. I must ask, though, what makes Sean McVay's offense truly tick?

The run game. Almost everything that he does in the pass game is schematically based off of the success in the run game.

What have the Rams been noticeably worse at since Whits injury?

Running the ball!

I don't find it to be a coincidence, then, that Noteboom is not as good as Whit at run blocking. He can get there, hopefully.

Is that an excuse for Jared to have been so horrible at protecting the ball?

Emphatically, no.

I am saying that it is a factor in how well McVay has been able to scheme the passing game/the looks that Jared has gotten from the opposing D's.

McVay does not tell the receivers to just go get open and Goff to just go make it happen. It is a scheme reliant offense that works very well when it works, but is average at best when it doesn’t (no run game). Let us consider how well any QB or offense operates when they are made to be one dimensional.

Let us also consider that both the Bucs and the 9rs have championship caliber run defense.

Guys, can I paint the picture anymore clear?

Goff has to play fundamentally sound football. If he can at least be an effective game manager and avoid turning the ball over then he is a + at the position and this team goes deep into the playoffs.

The D is championship caliber. The jury is still out on the special teams due to the addition and good play of Gay. They are definitely not a strength anymore, but if Gay can keep it together then they are at least no longer a weakness.

Complete teams win the Superbowl.

We're in it to win SBs not play off appearances or runner up awards. Anything short of that is a failure.

We're still going to be in the playoffs, barring a collapse. We control our destiny with that, and McVay is going to make damn sure what the stakes are. And when teams go into the playoffs, literally anything goes.

If I've learned one thing from my sports teams in baseball and hockey, it's that it's never over until the final out/end of the game.

Yeah, even in my optimistic outlook post, I had this as a loss.

You give Kyle and Saleh 2 weeks to work on us and they gonna beat us.

Kyle uses the FB so well on O and we just don't have a counter for that as we have smaller, faster LBs. And Saleh just has our number. It's sickening...

But yeah... here's hoping that the team comes out HANGRY for the rest of the season and uses this shit loss to propel them deep into the playoffs.

I think it was 2014, Manning threw 8 INT’s in a span of 2 games. It might have been 10 in 3 games... I can’t remember but it was the funniest rut I remember a QB having. He pulled out quick, of course.

He also threw 23 INT’s his 4th season. Ppl forget that too.

Goff has 10 right now.

It still all in front of us - in our hands. We have struggled with the 49ners recently - but its not like tehy are destorying us.

We easily could haev won both games this year.. and the game at their place we should have won last year (goff pick 6 at end of half)

They got us right now but its not by much... we have owned seattle and arizona.. if we can keep doing that we got a good chance to win the division.

Thing of it is? We're going to the playoffs this year. The Whiners - barring a miracle - aren't. So there's that.
