Every time I discuss QB salaries, it brings up my idea from years ago (which makes even MORE sense every year), that QB salaries should NOT hit the cap. That's the cost of a QB these days. Give him $40m... what's the alternative?

We treat them differently when they're hit low, incidental contact with their helmets when trying to bat down a ball, when they slide, etc. Why can't we just admit they're a different beast and don't need to be 25+% of the freaking cap.
Let the QB position be like a coach's salary, you want to overpay, go for it!
Why? The Rams just won a SB because of him.And the Rams have to pay him. But if he is seeking to be the top paid QB, as some suggest, again, a bit disappointing.
Bc that’s the market rate for the best defensive player in football with zero guaranteed money left on his deal. How should AD be paid more when there is close to zero chance his production becomes better?
It is called circular bargaining. How should AD be paid more when there is close to zero chance his production becomes better?
Man I know this is a bit odd topic but damn, I get it if either one of those guys was severely underpaid. Donald is top 5 in salary which is good.

I don't think it's feasible. Without the QB salary hitting the cap their salaries on the open market will skyrocket and the richest owner will always have the best player at the most important position.Every time I discuss QB salaries, it brings up my idea from years ago (which makes even MORE sense every year), that QB salaries should NOT hit the cap.

You don't have to remove it entirely from the cap though. Make it a function where it's not counted on the cap but it's set to a maximum of the current cap. That way it's not an open free for all so to speak for QB's there's still a structure. Honestly this doesn't really change anything it just raises the cap it's just more games and manipulations of it.I don't think it's feasible. Hence no more parity, which is the entire point of the salary cap in the first place.
Reality is they will likely be paying him a few yrs after he is gone so his cap hit won't be bad now while they can win.How should AD be paid more when there is close to zero chance his production becomes better?
Actually, you are incorrect. It was a Holiday Inn Express! No frills and day old donuts for your continental breakfast.Bio says he stayed at a Holiday Inn last night.
Yeah I'm so thankful they got this done in year one. Greed does have a level where it could cost this team a real shot at repeat. But also it comes down to creative caponomics so gonna wait and see how this all falls out..
oh well.
"we need to bring back miller and obj" has changed to "gimme my money".
.
With extending AD and Stafford, it makes me wonder it they'll be able to sign anyone outside of Miller and OBJ.Yeah I'm so thankful they got this done in year one. Been saying they need to make tough decisions though. The solid types who are up for FA are gone basically. And the Rams may need to move a player or two they really like.
