After my 6th Tito's screwdriver I thought, what if Trost is so impressive they HAVE to insert in the lineup somewhere? I could see another Avila attempt at center so they could plug in at LG year 1. Would be a good problem to have.

IMO, I don't think there is any plan to replace Coleman Shelton at Center. He just came off one of his better years and Stafford trust him, plus, Shelton does an excellent job communicating to ensure the rest of the OL is all on the same page with his OL calls.

Now I do believe that UDRFA Austin Blaske has some upside and could offer something down the road, but at this point I believe the plan is to keep the current OL in tact, with the hope to make decisions on either Avila or Dotson come 2027.

Dotson, Avila and McClendon will be free agents next year. Unless someone's extended before then. We may not be able to extend all of them. If so, who's the odd man out? Will Trost be ready to step in? I think Dedich is capable. He held his own for the most part in the limited sample size. I think for continuity they need at least two of those.

Shelton's in the last year of his deal too. Limmer's the primary backup. He showed some promise until he didn't. Its possible they bring back Shelton on a one year deal. Or maybe they think Limmer will be ready.

These are all scenarios for next year and beyond. They addressed the future with the draft. Now its time to focus on a potential championship run. Oddsmakers have us as a slight favorite. There's a reason for that. The roster is stacked and primed for that run. All they need is some depth for the inevitable injuries.
Agree.

No team 2027 Ram unit has more unknowns after the new yr than the OL. Four starters & the main reserve OT contracts come to an end.

Snead has a larger number of INTERIOR OL'ers under contract before the draft than at OT. Most all here believe neither OT Arcuri & Quessenberry are long term answers as a good future leaning reserve OT. Rams this last week moved to upgrade that situation & moved to try to address the problems @ OT with this 2026 roster, with drafting Swing OT Keagen Trost, bringing UDFA Swing OL'er Austin Blaske & RT Bryce Henderson.

Its been brought up too that North Carolina OL Chad Lindberg has good RT size after being a good interior swing starting OL'er being over 6-6 & excellent length.

The above thoughts brings me up to what I think should be the first move on securing this future OL ..... Signing 2027 UFA starting Right OT Warren McClendon.

I like McClendon but I am still not sold on giving him a big extension and making him the long-term answer at RT. His 2024 struggles come to mind and his play during the playoff run seemed to take a dip. I personally like to see tall large-bodied tackles like Havenstein and Jackson. To me Mclendon does not have ideal size for RT and that also makes we wonder about long term durability. I like the Trost pick for depth but like Mcldendon, he does not have ideal size and it is lilkly the reason he lasted to the third round.

I think the Rams are being smart here. They're making all four of them play on that final year. So with McClendon, if he has a strong season at RT then I agree you definitely lock him up.

OT is harder to fill than the interior types. Rams drafted and developed him, so if he's ready to do the job yes you absolutely lock him up. Only way I wouldn't is if his demands are outlandish.

I worry about a leadership deficit this year, especially after watching the Havenstein/Baldy interview. We should put Hav on the staff.

Then The Rams get Cmoo Picks ?
McClendon is very young still for a 4th year veteran.

FUNNY!!! Not a lot of post about Steve Avila.Just saying.I have my reserve about how things will play out ?

No matter how you slice this someone's gonna leave in FA. Possibly two will leave in FA as well, if the Rams elect to pay three total on the OL, as Jackson is already under contract.

Don’t think Wyatt Bowles doesn’t come up in the Situation (talks). He IMO outplayed ALL The Interior OL Man especially at LG .Showed he can play center as well.Limmer as promising as he looked in 2024,can’t say he owned up to that season in 2025.

LG Wyatt Bowles is not known to me other than the 3 preseason gms in 2025. I remember him playing LG post. I know he has good size over 6-5 315lbs started 20 gms @ LG @ Utah. Bowles is under contract for the 2026 & 2027 seasons. Bowles has never been active for any regular season games.

During 2025 preseason Rams drafted Beaux Limmer got many starts @ OC. He also took some snaps @ LG. Limmer has been active and played in 21 NFL gms starting 14 @ OC. Limmer is also under contract for the next 2 seasons. No sure how Limmer plays into the upcoming FA of Coleman Shelton. If guessing Limmer is currently our back up center & has good size to him.@6-5 320 lbs. He does have numerous other signed Rams OC's looking to take that position from him.

The most prominent back up OL'er is Justin Dedich who started many games for the injured RG Dotson. Dedich is very small OL'er. Normally OL'ers who under 6-2 & @ 296 lbs do not play long @ the OG posts in the NFL. Dedich has played in 29 NFL gms & started 9 of them. He is one tough SWING interior OL'er.

Rams also have held onto center Dylan McMahon drafted by the Eagles 6th rd. in 2024. started one gm for them that season & was cut. McMahon has been a PS rams ever since. On the small size 6-3 290lbs.

Rams just signed UDFA Chad Lindberg a 6-7 starting center for the North Carolina. How many over 6-6 centers do you know of in the NFL?

New signed Ram Austin Blaske 6-5 310 was also a college starting center @ North Carolina before his move to starting LT.

That's a rather large collection of centers for the Rams.

I believe coming out of training camp that Dedich was the primary backup at center but perhaps I'm wrong...

... anyone?

Limmer's got a big offseason coming up. Really struggled in preseason from what I remember and looked to be beaten out by Dedich for all three IOL spots.

Well we all should know about The center from North Carolina last season as well ???

First Off I missed you & always have loved your passion for the Offensive Line of The YEARS. We go way back & will continue to say glad your right.

We’ll see how things play out.THE RAMS have gotten SO BIG & getting tickets to OTA’s is crazy now.Might actually have to find away to go,then again RedRock might be a summer bucket list thing ?

It’s a new season.

I’ll start by saying just from photos,Limmer doesn’t look as in shape than he did during OTA’s last year.

There is a whole new crop of young players.I was impressed by a few of them, but OLine for a Rookie isn’t easy.

From WHAT I see - A.J. Arcuri looks Freaking Bulked Up !! He got some NFL Playing time over The Years as well. He basically Beat Out Logan Brussss from MCSNEADS Worst first Ram Player Drafted in any if there Drafts.Resigning Kyren & Q were the Cream of the Crop.Durant is gone, but AJ is a veteran NOW !! There is something to be said for waiting your turn & working hard every day. On The Preseason IMO he is THE STARTING LT in the Preseason!!!

Limmer ?? Not sure, but Coleman Shelton has come a long way from what (BubbaRam) some Ram Fans think of him when your talking resigning ??

I’m a SC guy SO Dedich has been impressive.

Shelton is undersized, but what makes him a Great Rams is just the History from The John Sullivan Days. The 2019 season is on Sean Mcvay.Les Snead bailed him out.Anyways John Sullivan still holds a Legacy (imo,Big White),on how The Line is Called up Front !!

My point even being The Ram extra New Offensive Lines coach in Brian Allen.OF Course My GUY Austin Blythe!!

Does my History go back that Deep ?? Do you remember those TIMES !
Who was The Rams starting RG in 2018 next to John Sullivan??

Anyways my GUY now is Wyatt Bowles.I just LIKED what he brought during the preseason.A small sample Size, but like Dedich,Allen,Blythe,& Shelton is SIZE to Play GUARD!!!

Yes Dedich is a Freaking STUD,but like Blythe he should be a CENTER or a Swing C/G who makes a solid backup.

EVERYONE who wants to TALK about Humpries (CRED) NEVER mentions ONE thing !! Who was his Mentor that Andy Reid had in place to actually be The KC CHIEFS starting Center if The RAMS Drafted him ???

Easy Answer - just some not smart enough to think about it ,but just ENJOY talking CHIT !!

You know Bonifyd ,always like talking Rams O”Line & History with you. I actually have NO CLUE what’s going to happen up Front in 2026.

This kid they signed looks good with his technique!!! I’m sure Zak Kromer had a Big Say in THE DRAFT pick. I”ll call that Trosting on The Cake!! He will put pressure on McClendon to resigning for a fair contract ? Sometimes they like players to play out there contracts & Earn It !!!

Bowles is an example like Dedich the season before.UDRFA especially on The Offense Line have a chance to PROVE themselves. They get excellent NFL game experience & game tape.

ALARIC is a great example.

I thought the same WestCoastRam ...but go & rewatch the 3 preseason gms if you have time

I was surprised by Dedich"s placement @ RG. But I do know he played all 3 interior positions in PS gms. too. But JD is bigger than the great all pro Tom Mack.

Its was hard to catch the new OL numbers in those games & the talking heads offer up nothing in ref. to details of the lineup info ongoing in the game. The cameras angles are poor & high up. Close up shots of the on field action is rare. I find it best to just MUTE! Add in the summers high sun & brightness adds to the problem ID'ing the OL numbers. My resource avenue to rewatched those PS games was on YouTube. Good luck.

Beaux Limmer got thrown into the hot fire his 2024 rookie season at starting center & it may have done some serious early damage to his moxie. Hopefully it will be 2 yrs behind him & with the Rams having to make serious cap $$$ decisions & future investments due to the 4 starting OL'ers hitting UFA in 8 months time all at once, your right this season is big for BL.

If I had to call the future outcome one yr from now on the OL UFA's .....Dedich will win the starting center post in 2027. RG Kevin Dotson will be the first OL'er to be offered his 2nd big $$$ RAM contract & take over for Rob Havenstein as the units leader.

I saw a camera shot of the near 6-7 308 lb AJ Arcuri on the sidelines and he was cut chiseled from head to toe. Arcuri may never play regularly but he has put time into getting himself in the best of physical shape to play any of the 4 OL posts if the opportunity comes.

I think Trost comes in and is a factor this year. He's like a 7 year starter in college with a ton of experience. I expect him to push either Avila or possibly McClendon. Dotson I think is the leader on the O Line now and I expect he'll get a new deal soon. Don't be surprised if Shelton also is extended.

Rams had a low-key great Day 2 of Draft. This will show up as soon as this season.

I feel they also had a low-key great Day 1 of the Draft, but that wont be readily apparent for maybe 2-4 years

Oh yeah, almost forgot, also had a "low-key" great Day 3 of Draft......

If nothing else he is part of The Rams Foundation!! Players have to come in and compete. His Experience is of Value.Mentoring & leading by example.

The Rams get the most out of their offensive linemen so I'm sure Trost will be very good. It's just a matter of time.
