I did earlier with either Bain or a trade down for Cooper
Okay. So at the very least we have a CHANCE of quantifying. If Rams fall just short, and Bain is a monster (think Jalen Carter 2024) maybe we say the pick cost us a Ring, MAYBE. Good job.

Of course we'd have to then see if Simpson HITS as a Franchise Quarterback and negates the effect of being in "Quarterback Purgatory " and wins us any Rings back. Game wouldn't be over.

That's not how it works with critiquing the draft. The pros and cons are..... pros get Simpson and cons get the field. At least until the season transpires. Then it's narrowed down from the field to a half dozen or so. And the funny thing is Simpson won't have a say with his play other than preseason..
Sooooo, if the Rams dont draft Simpson....thry draft...."the field???"

Geez, even I would MUCH rather have all of Bain, Lemon, Cooper, Sadiq AND Theineman, LMAO

So let me get this straight. All you need to do is opine that Simpson was the wrong pick and that makes you the smart one. I would think that if you are so confident that the pick was a mistake, you would have an opinion as to specifically how it should have been handled. And that would include who that player is and where they would be taken. Word is that the Rams felt that Love was the only true difference maker in the draft. This may or may not be true but that leaves us wondering. You say we should have used the draft to get someone that would have helped us get to the SB THIS YEAR - not someone that would sit behind our QB. So who is that impact player? You want to wait and see who does what in the coming season? Well that's kind of chicken shit. But even if you want to use that as some sort of litmus test, does it include whether that player would actually see the field and have the same impact with THIS team? Or is it just that they got with a team that needed them? Are we going to use Miami and their WR room? Maybe KC and their CB group? Come on man. If @Coliseum Ram is being dumb here, give us your wisdom.

Bottom line is that if you are going to sit here and argue that Simpson was the wrong pick, one would think you have an opinion as to who was the RIGHT pick or right draft process.
My thoughts EXACTLY, 503!

And let me also throw in, and the record shows, my "Plan A" was NOT Simpson, it was trade up for Love.

It's pretty amazing how hard it is to get this point across. My thought, was that the focus should have been do everything humanly possible to get that Superbowl, not hard to understand. Superbowls are notoriously hard to win so why not do everything to win it all when we were literally a play away from winning the Superbowl? I didn't go into specifics with players earlier but I've been on record saying use it on an additional pass rusher, WR, or even OL, basically anyone that could have had an impact on sometime during the year. Win now, worry about the future QB when we get there. Can't present a future plan at all when I can't predict what all the options will be for QB. Will there be a disgruntled QB out there that wants a trade, will a QB fall a bit because you have other skilled positions that are going to be deemed really strong in the next draft class? No idea my friend. Stafford is our best chance to get a Superbowl now. Simpson is an unknown at moment and doesn't really help us win a Superbowl this year. He's currently the planned heir down the road.
O lineman doesn't help us win the Super Bowl either most likely. Unless of course Freeling ousts McClendon for the job or Iaone ousts Avila. Which I guess COULD happen. Anyways, Rams were already best team before Pick 13. We should go to the Super Bowl as constituted, and now, Franchise Quarterback Succession plan is seemingly solved, if not arguably.

Lol I'm definitely not arguing anything. I'm just talking about what the narrative will be if we don't win it all. I guess its not a fond subject to discuss. Didn't say anything about Simpson being the wrong pick because I don't know that at all.
And to that i say "narrative, schmarrative." Cant go around in life worrying about "narratives."

And the premise that if we arent the ONE team out of 32 to win the freakin SUPER BOWL (Winning Super Bowls ain't easy, kids), the blame goes to the Simpson pick is almost laughable and at best shoddy.

I made this point pre draft - that picking Simpson can have an indirect immediate help for the 2026 team & Super Bowl run.

If he’s the future guy, it opens up those 2027+ draft picks to trade for whatever we need in 2026. It also gives us future cap space freedom not having to pay QB1 $50-70M/year - thereby allowing us to acquire an expensive guy; and extend our pending FAs.

So indirectly, even if he doesn’t play, he potentially could result in other 2026 additions helping us win the SB this coming season.
Yes, and BECAUSE of this fact and the possibility of a trade before or in-season, the 2026 book on who this team IS, is not written yet.

Is this sarcasm?

An initial critique without alternatives seems meaningless to me.
Sarcasm.
Tongue in cheek.

Many complaining about the Simpson pick don't offer just 1 alternative. That makes it easier to say I told you so. Funny thing is you can probably compare any first round pick to him and they're gonna play a lot more. It's a lose-lose situation for anyone happy with the pick until at least 2027 or 2028.
