I believe requesting it is pretty standard through the courts in this kinda situation. I don't think you can read anything into that other than they're not gonna be together it seems.

For all we know, he cheated on her, she's breaking up with him and this is just standard fair to get the ball rolling on child support.

Why does it not look good for the Rams? They don’t control his personal life they are his employer. He’s a professional and is coming up on a very big year for his future. His personal life is his personal life. He will learn to deal with these types of distractions as his career continues. I say just let him figure it out it’s not nobody else’s business.

When you are in the public eye, a situation like this is absolutely the business of the team. If the player is embroiled in court battles, and life distractions, only a naive person would think they are hermetically sealed from it affecting their job. Character counts. There is a reason for McVay building this culture. He gets it. Maybe some day you will as well.
