Im assuming this is more of a "proactive" approach than a "reactive". Meaning I dont think Puka has an addiction, but he is realizing this is becoming a problem and wants help to fix it. If he had an addiction, it would effect his play on the field and/or Coach would have noticed it and gave him an ultimatum, as well as decreased his time on the field.
A couple of nights out on the tiles and he’s in rehab. Classic America.
I would say that they sensationalize things rather than get things "factually right".
I am far, far more concerned about this than I am his drinking.

His problem isn't that bad. It's not at a Tiger Woods level lol. He's just resetting himself and the narrative, and showing the front office he's addressing it before his big contract.
The impression I get from Puka is a likeable, decent kid who likes having fun, but naive and immature. He needs someone like a life coach to shadow him when he goes places. I remember what Davante Adams said. "if you don't like Puka then you're the problem not him".
