Thomas also got nuked on punt return, dude put him down pretty good. Think it was in the second quarter, memory's fuzzy as I was drinking.
Mack came clean off the edge quite a bit early in the game too. On the TD Goff threw for that matter. I'm sure in a real game McVay would have adjusted, but still it could have become an issue over more snaps.
Also as happy as I am with McVay's play calling and overall offensive preparation, you could see the Raiders start to really tighten up on some of the short stuff as the game went on. I think he's going to have to take more shots downfield and he probably will in week 3 since Watkins should have a better feel for the offense with another week.
OL did a lot of good things, played much better tonight so hope it continues.
Defense looks deep and solid. To think I was concerned with our CBs. Hill's TD he gave up was irritating but meh, they do have a playoff level offense so that stuff's gonna happen. Was very irritated by that flag on Joyner. Only criticism I can make is with the safeties, suspect they've got some stuff to sort but still overall a very strong showing as expected.
I have to think that with Donald and Quinn in there, and Watkins once he knows the offense, this team has enough pieces to do some really good stuff like contend for the playoffs. But we have 2 more preseason games to go so here's hoping this team continues to grow and hits the season on a roll.
