We’ve been down this road in the other thread.
Stafford isn’t retiring. He’s committed to playing. If Rams trade him and he retires, it doesn’t screw the Rams it screws the team that trades for him.
Which is why this is a 3 party transaction: 1. Rams, 2. Trading team, 3. Stafford. There is no trade unless all three agree.

Rams won't trade him for pocket change. The trading team won't pony up high value trade compensation unless they can work out a deal. Stafford won't work out a deal to a destination he doesn't want to play.

If all parties can't "win" the trade, there is no trade.

A couple of weeks ago I would have said 'no' to any trade involving Staff. But now I am reconsidering because I have learned where there's smoke there is usually fire. This is dragging on too long and seemingly there is a new trade proposal or new team interested in trading for Staff every day or so.

So I voted 'yes.'

I'm starting to think that Les and Coach Mac are getting tired of this and are going to give Staff a "sign or die" ultimatum and that is going to end his career with the Rams.

I could be wrong but that's how I see it at this point in time......

Is this actually true? I feel like there are actually a ton of times that it doesn't. Aiyuk and Lamar Jackson are two recent ones that come to mind.
From what I understand there was a contract and deal done for Aiyuk, but he nixed it at the last moment because he really wanted to stay with the 49ers.

Not true but this isnt the thread to argue about it

I was only thinking about Rams history and not other teams or players like Aiyuk or Jackson.

And, I'm just going off my general memory from over the years. Nothing factual.

I vote NO because that is what I want. I think the hang up in the end could be guaranteed items that Stafford seems to want more of with an extension. I'm betting he wants to play when he is 40.

Voted no because that's what I want to happen ... but can't say it was a confident no.

I believe the team that will swoop in and make a big trade for Stafford will be the Las Vegas Raiders. Rams will sign Garoppolo to a two year deal, sign Zach Wilson to back him up.
I hope you're wrong Coach. If that happened I take Rodgers over Jimmy G ( I totally hated writing that)!

Am I missing the font color? Color blind here but it sure looks like black font.
No Blue Font required in extreme cases of silliness.

You may be under-estimating the inability of some ROD posters to recognize sarcasm, humor and goofiness.

The Blue Font is my contribution to ROD. It's intended to help those that struggle to appreciate my gifts.

Or, stated another way ...

Why would Stafford agree to this? Why go to a team that was 4-13 last year and has been pretty consistently terrible for the last 2 decades? I'd think MS would take a little less money to stay with the Rams as opposed to stumbling through the twilight of his career with a hopeless Raiders team.... just for a few million more that he sure doesn't need.

Stafford knows how shitty losing is (his time in Detroit) and how sweet it is to chase a Lombardi (in LA).

I voted no, but I am an optimist. The longer this goes on the harder that gets, but I believe what is best for the Rams is having Stafford under center. I think that is what McVay thinks as well. Hopefully the FO and Stafford will get their shit together.
I’m a realist and I voted no. I think the Rams know what they have in Stafford and Stafford knows what he has in the Rams.
Where are the Rams going to go and get as good as or better quarterback and where is Stafford going to go and get as good as or better organization or situation to win a championship?

Of course if Stafford just wants money, all bets are off.

I just believe if Stafford does leave, it will be the Raiders IMHO. I still believe he stays.

Money and believing the Raiders could be much better then the record indicates, however, it is a tough division. Just have a feeling if there is a team, it will be Vegas and if they pay, Stafford might head there because of location and the Tom Brady factor.

Again I believe he stays, but if he leaves, I believe Vegas will be serious players.

It really makes sense on so many levels, and I still think they may have something with O'connell. Who better to sit behind and learn than #9??

His reported contract demands make it seem like he just wants the money. If those are true he goes to whoever pays him.
