A few minutes messing with the ESPN playoff machine and it seems pretty likely we will open up the playoffs either @ Carolina or @ TB

Then I have Green Bay (7) beating the bears (2)
The loser of the 9ers/Seahawks (6) beating Philly (3)

That means round 2 would have us hosting the 9ers or Seattle

NFC championship would be in Seattle or San Fran

Not gonna lie - that would be pretty sweet to get revenge on the Panthers and then beat the shit out of both Seattle and San Fran in the playoffs.

If that #1 seed is gone that last week, then hopefully we’re locked into 5 and can rest everyone the final week. That would be ideal - if/when #1 is out of reach.

If we can’t beat TB/Carolina on the road in the playoffs, then we certainly are not winning the SB.

And then win the Super Bowl on the 9ers house,

with avoiding major injuries, returning to full strength, and competent reffing...

we have as good a chance as anyone

go rams

Anything can happen but if we win our next two we are either getting the 1 seed or playing Carolina/Tampa.

I see the most likely seeding looking like this..

Our path to Super Bowl likely goes @Carolina, Niners @Seattle. All of which I expect us to win, and Vegas agrees.

If Chicago beats GB above then our path goes @Carolina @Chicago Niners (I expect them to beat Seattle)

In any case I expect a matchup with the Niners and no Philly or GB.

If Seattle loses to Carolina the number 1 seed is back in play.

This is why it is imperative the Rams lock up the 5 seed if they can’t catch the seahawks. It is entirely plausible the WCs sweep the first round. That puts the 5 seed at home in the divisional round. Should the seahawks nosedive in that round, the 5 seed would host the NFCCG.

The way I see it:
the Bears beat the Packers
SF beats the Eagles
We beat Carolina/Tampa.

Round 2
SF beats SEA
We beat CHI

We host & destroy SF in the NFCCG at SoFi then win the Lombard at their house!

Nice thing sbout bears and 49ners is we gain simething from either team losing

Any chance to regsin one seed rests on carolina

If Seahawks lose root for 49ers Sunday Night. If Seattle wins, root for Chicago.

As far as Week 18 goes, Seattle has a better chance of beating San Francisco than dead Detroit does of beating Chicago.

Yeah, it seems likely all we gotta do is win the next two to secure no worse than 5 seed. We'd have the tiebreaker over Seattle and better record over SF. A lot of things can happen.

We still have a shot at number one or two. If Chicago beats SF and SF beats Seattle we'd wouldn't be number one if Chicago beats Detroit next week. But we'd be number two.

I'm accepting that number 5 is likely. I think we'd win in Tampa or Carolina. I also think we'd win in SF or Seattle. Chicago or Philly would be tougher due to weather but still doable. I think we're better than both of those teams.
