Keep playing the same defense that the 49ers have beat the last 6 out of 7 games makes even more sense.
We weren't playing soft coverage week 18 last year when we lost.

Keep not scoring points against them seems to be the bigger issue in most of the games.. and not turning the ball over.. especially pick-6s.
The offense was the reason the Rams lost the last game to the 9ers.. not the defense. And it's not close.

And the Defense has been different.. They beat Brandon Staley's #1 rated scheme.. or did you forget that part? With a 3rd string QB.

So.. your response is non-sensical.
I'm curios who people bitch about longer. Goff or Morris it's really going to be close imo.

you are right. allowing samuel to break numerous tackles for a 60 yard td had nothing to do with the defense.

The Rams have the core of their secondary healthy again. There simply is no reason to sit back 10 yards off the LOS. They need to stop the run and force Jimmy to beat them. Then you play him like you play Kyler, you take away the quick short reads. Force him to hold the ball.

That's where getting another top edge will change the entire dynamic of this defense. But this Sunday I want to see Robinson and Gaines in the middle with AD opposite Floyd on the edge with Wagner and Jones holding down the box. Morris has his complete secondary so he can play a nickel most of the game.

IMO the biggest key to the game will be limiting YAC so playing closer to the LOS and tackling will be an absolute necessity.

Jimmy G: 21-25, 235 yards, 9.2/att, 2 TD, 0 INT, 132 QB Rating. 31 points on offense.

That says everything you need to know about that lunacy.

secondary is pretty bad....

o-line is pretty bad....

running backs nothing special

only one real WR maybe

Morris is no match for Shanny. But the problems go deeper than scheme. We lose physically to them in the run game on both sides of the ball and that is probably the biggest issue. Add on young corners needing to be integrated next to Ramsey plus two strong safeties plus a weak rush and it's hard to hang it all on scheme.

But yes to beat them we need to quit surrendering the underneath. They get so many fucking gimme yards from us it's stupid.

With the Rams current personnel.. I think they would've given up 50 if they'd try running press coverage against that team.
And how are you running press coverage with CMC? What are you doing with him? Because he tore-ass on everyone the Rams threw at him.
Gashed in the run game.. dumb penalties.. beaten over the top for two huge gains... This defense got destroyed.. and it's a lot more than just about "soft zones."

This defense was not ready to handle ANYTHING thrown at it today. Awful.
Morris and his position coaches did not have their guys prepared... and that's pretty fucking damning.
