Meanwhile, GZ made a 59 yarder into the wind....letting him and bones walk will go down as one of McVays dumbest moves.

Well, we don't know if Fassel wanted to move on either I believe it was mutual and with Zuerlein the cap played into it as well, however, I miss both of them, but the good news is, Fassel might be available real soon as the Cowboys might have to fire Mike McCarthy or they really are never going to win under him.

Most felt McVay's hire of Brandon Staley was a plus and Kevin O'Connell too, but all of us knew going from Fassel to Bonamego was a downgrade and that's been proven correct. Next year, I'm sure the Rams will sign kicker in free agency and they might hire a new special team coach as well.

Zuerline had missed his first 3 attempts from 50+ and has already missed 2 XP. For the money they would have had to pay him, this place would have gone nuts with that type of performance.
Said it a million times, we've been spoiled (from a K perspective) having only 3 kickers over a 20 something year period. Teams need some luck here as well. I mean look at the Jets. They cant do anything right but they pick up Ficken, who was dreadful for us, and he was doing well for them. Now he's hurt and the guy who replaced him drilled 3 FG yesterday including a 48 and 55 yarder!

We have certainly been spoiled by having very good fg kickers the past decade.
I certainly hope we can find someone in FA next year. FG purgatory is not a fun place to be. Unfortunately, having a bad kicker can bury a teams hopes and chances of winning.

I hope they spend the next two weeks giving MacGinnis a chance (again) and let the best guy win between him and KF.

he's not psychic. all he saw last year was gz missing pretty easy fgs which led to rams losses. that's what he had to go on.

we went through all this kicker stuff last year. the mob wanted to run gz out of town. now he's gone they want him back.

.
Kickers are gonna miss a few. But he gave us a weapon. We knew we had a chance as long as we could get close to the 40, we had a chance for points. We have no chance right now. I never wanted him gone, I was pissed we let him walk. I miss having him and bones.

Problem is GZ was expensive, and on a roster that had no cap room. Not to nention the punter has a $4M cap number this year.

Tough to have $7M or so tied up in your kickers.

Fans can't understand that you can't keep everyone even if you want to.

Honestly I didn’t think it was a huge deal what happened last year that pissed off McVay. Way more things that should like NOT RUNNING THE BALL...

The price you pay having a first time inexperienced coach. Sometimes you make amazing moves sometimes it’s like wtf?

IDK if my special teams coach called for fake on his own, in our own territory without my okay, I might be a tad upset, but I also don't believe I would allow a quality assistant like Fassel go.

Well my son being a viking fan i had my fill on watching forbath. We would make bets on how bad he would miss a fg or not make it to the end zone on kickoffs. When I heard we signed him I about shit myself then my phone blows up with my son laughing his ass off.Yesterday was the forbath I knew and dreaded mostly at the end of the game which could of helped us inch closer.Fellas what the hell we gonna do about the kicking this year?Where so fu@ked this year.
Not trying to call you out but he was 47-53 on FG's with the Viks

You know if you had a problem with giving him the ability to do it that is on you as a head coach not the assistant.

You can’t fault the assistant for exercising the power you bestow on him when he uses it.

Goes back to what I said about a young coach. Either call the shots or bestow your team to make decisions and live with them.

Hate managers that do that shit.

The two XPs he missed were against Seattle and he has a brain case against them for some reason.

Other than that he has been awesome. You are not going to make all your 50+ attempts. I never got mad that he missed those. Those are 60 40 with most kickers other than Tucker.

Only ones I got mad at were under 50 which he hasn't missed this year.
