Diggs has been pretty bad this year and, I believe, bad since his injury. To top it off, he's clearly been a team cancer. I'll pass.

Also, Forbes played pretty well last night IMO.

Haven't people watched Diggs play? He is terrible.

Diggs was chosen as an Allpro in his first few seasons only because he got a lot of interceptions.

He got the picks because teams picked on him relentlessly, threw at his man all the time and he has been torched deep over and over again.

Diggs is a complete liability in coverage, and the Cowboys are just cutting their losses by releasing him and are willing to take the dead money hit to get out from under his big contract.

The same goes for Daron Bland, another Cowboys cornerback. Bland got a lot of buzz by setting the record for pick sixes in a season, but he too is poor in coverage.

By the way, Emmanuel Forbes is amongst the league leaders in PBU primarily because every opponent targets him in their game plan, as they have also gone after Darius Williams.

Observers make the mistake of equating big interception and pass breakup numbers with quality secondary play. The fact is that teams tend to avoid quality DB's - many of whom are not targeted as frequently and may have low interception numbers.

Ideally DB's can both cover and have good ball skills.

Diggs can catch the ball, but is lousy in coverage.

One, Forbes has been solid overall.

Two, go read about the circumstances for Diggs and why Dallas released him. Didn't seem to rehab his injuries well. Hard pass

So the story is Diggs wanted to stay in DC after the Christmas game. Or was it NY? The team had several days off after the Thursday game and he wanted to stay there for Christmas I stead of flying to Dallas then immediately flying back. Dallas was emphatic he couldn't do that even though he had days off. A few days later after flying with the team they cut him.

He isn't good in overall coverage, but he got some INTs that look good in highlight replays

Asked my boy who's a Dallas fan about why they let him go and this is what he said...

"He just had a lot of injuries and wasn't the same after he got paid...attitude wise as well...and then he was very close with parsons and was very vocal about he didn't "buy in" to shotty's program...so respect it...he'll go somewhere and be a really good comer for the next 5 6 years."

Im more than down if this is the consensus on him. We didnt buy into Shotty when he was with us either and Dallas is a dumpster fire.

Forbes was our CB1 for a bit while Witherspoon was out, meaning he's covering the other teams WR1. Seems a little disingenuous to say they target him purposefully bc of his play while ignoring the fact it may also be bc he's defending the opposing teams best WR.

Nah he's targeted because of his play. Anyone can get open on him, not just the team's best. Before Bijan got going, the Falcons purposely targeted Forbes side of the field on that first TD drive. At least two of our losses are due to him not showing up when it counts.

I'm rooting for him and hope he becomes more consistent, but my point is he was cut as a 1st round pick and we took him in. I don't see the harm in doing the same with Diggs.
