It's because Chandler Brewer is coming back and the plan is to move Brewer to RG and Austin Corbett to Center....Of course I have no information pertaining to that actual plan, but the though of Brian Allen calling signals in the middle makes me ill.

Brewer & Anchrum both in play at OG, although Brewer was getting most of his snaps in 2019 at LT, so he might be projected as our top swing OT/OG since Noteboom is still likely to be the first man up behind Whitworth. It's going to be an interesting camp, and yes, Evans is also going to compete at RT/OG. I still hope we can find a 7'th round OT/OG project who surprises us like Anchrum did last year.

because tbh.... only this board thinks we have ol problems.
Because our center Austin Blythe was a liability and lowest rated OL last year.

We have received little to no information on what they intend to do with the Center position.

I assume they intend to move Corbett over to Center and place Evans at Guard as apparent from the draft selections.

May the Gods help us if someone gets injured.

I don’t know where yet but I do feel Anchrum is going to be a good piece on our o-line sooner than later. I just wish he was a little taller with longer arms...we would have our future LT
Kromes talked him up twice without any prodding, Snead talked him up too. Kromes mentioned he's got the arms you want in length in spite of his short height. I figured it was Kromes doing his thing talking his guy up but obviously the Rams retained that outlook even after they changed the OL coach. They must be really high on him as well as some others.

I like that.

I'm still holding out for Anchrum at center.

We know the Rams like him a lot. He's smart and reliable as he showed at Clemson. We know he played all the line positions in college and said when drafted that he would be willing to play any of them in the pros. He's going to play somewhere eventually. We already have enough guards.

In my (likely overheated) mind the center spot could be his best pro position and his highest use value to the Rams.

Camp is going to be great this year. Corbett's year and a half experience starting at LG/RG may give him a leg up at Center, although I can see Anchrum winning a starting OG job while potentially cross-training at Center.
I honestly don't know why guys are worried about our 2021 OL depth, it may be more a matter of getting some of them extended contracts soon that is more urgent. We probably still shouldn't discount Brian Allen either, he may yet start or be our first reserve at Center. Even the rather infamous Demby may have made some great progress since we last saw him in 2019.
Also, there's going to be a rich source of OT/OG/C's during the 2022 draft since so many seniors opted to take the Covid allowance and remain in school for another season.

LT) Whitworth, Noteboom, Brewer
LG) Edwards, Evans
C) Corbett, Allen
RG) Anchrum, Brewer
RT) Havenstein, Evans

If the depth chart plays out something like the above, that's 9 OL on the 53 and pretty solid depth in my eyes.

We could still use more developmental players on the Practice Squad. jmo.

This is my main concern. We havent drafted or picked up any little bit of depth or even what would seem like a quality back up. I HIGHLY doubt, all of our pick ups have been steals. There has to be some duds in an already small pool to choose from.

This board is gonna be funny as hell if Allen wins that starting center job. Might have to put Den on suicide watch.

I've given up on the OL. Uncle already Rams you win F. Full of hope too as always with fingers crossed.

Brown and Brown one will eat blockers while the other Brown causes speed problems. He looks solid I dig those highlights.

He does not look at all like a pass rushing edge. Does not have speed or bend or any go to pass rush moves. Looks like he can be an edge setter In the run. He also might be able to back up at DE.

Definite candidate for that Fox role.

I’m just completely perplexed how we haven’t gotten one player on the OL. Just mind blowing honestly.

Why ? Like I’ve been asking for months. Who are you going to cut if you draft a OLineman.

Been said he has the long arms, but size is the issue. He is versatile & said when drafted he could be used as a guard/center.He found himself playing RT during the season.Center is the issue up front.Mcshay said Allen,Coleman & a couple others might compete? Corbett & Anchrum?

At this point in the draft it is about who they view as the best available player. They probably didn't rank the offensively lineman highly.

Except for the fact that Joe Noteboom and Brian Allen already have starts under their belt and Coleman Shelton and Tremayne Anchrum have gameday actives under their belt as well as special teams.
Plus they seem pretty high on Brewer.

As far as depth and experience, I think we're about as good as any other team.

Plus you have to remember how many of our players have cross-trained other positions or have played tackle and are now playing inside.

Well I’m just going off the highlights shown. His first step in straight up.He does not separate.Looks slow with short arms.He does look like he has a short burst & once he gets leverage he finishes.A wide body.
I do not see Morgan Fox type at all.
Maybe Gaines, but The Rams need bulk up front still. The UDRFA will have a say if he can land a spot on the roster.
Right now I’ll say no he will not makes the roster. Going out on a limb for now.Heard something about a DT doing 40 reps though? There is a need inside to stop the run.

Well, Brian Allen was doodoo in his starts and Noteboom I will say did a admirable job which is a plus, but not great.

Mind you both of their contracts expire this year which means we’d have to extend/sign them for money we don’t have and more than likely more than what their worth.

Actually everyone of our OL contracts expire this year or next. Not smart to run a franchise on OL all about to expire with no money projected for resigning,

Except every year we say that there's no money for re-signing but somehow they find some.

I believe like many seasons, we'll see some mid season extensions being made, and it won't affect the 2021 CAP negatively. jmo.
