Exactly. Imagine having two women whining at you all the time.

Although it would be easier to take if the younger one was sex crazy still. Whining with a lot of sex is ok, but whining with little sex makes you wonder why you still do it.

.

It’s called LOVE brother. If she is the Mother of your child respect her this weekend.Make her feel good inside & out. It’s what you bring to the table is what you get out of the meal.Sometimes setting it nice & dimming the lights helps as well.
As we get older we might not look as good or feel the same.Sometimes you might just need to relight that candle to keep the flame burning.Just don’t let the wick burnout, other wise you might need a new candle.
Some people do it in house & out the house. That’s the shits if you get caught.Just saying.Sometimes life is what you make it.

Is Ernest Jones The Right Linebacker For The Rams?

Now that the picks are in, Les Snead and the LA Rams are on a path to see what’s still missing and what’s improved on both sides of the ball ahead of the new year and make the most out of a promising 2020 campaign led by new quarterback Matthew Stafford.

The positions of interest throughout their offseason included offensive line talent and fixing the linebacker position after Cory Littleton departed for Las Vegas. Going into the draft without a pick in the first, the depth at linebacker in this year’s incoming class felt extensive enough to land a talent likeJeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the second round or other promising names in the middle rounds.

In the third round, after picking wide receiver Tutu Atwell with the second-round pick, Les Snead addressed the need for a linebacker with South Carolina’s Ernest Jones. Rams fans have been generally positive on the pick, but the selection itself is one to look at and wonder whether he will be of short-term service for the Rams, or play out to be an impactful part of a championship defense for the Rams. The pick can be determined in the proper context, such as where the pick happened, other names available, and how the player fits. In this linebacker-rich class, Ernest Jones may be the right player for LA, but also carries the potential for the contrary.

Ernest Jones’s hybrid skillset as an off-ball linebacker that can find the football behind the line of scrimmage and produce tight coverage over the middle gives merit to all the hype thus far. The issue falls more on how the Rams’ league-leading defensive unit will follow up last year’s performance with departing talent both on the field and in the coaching staff.

Arguably the most important coaching performance in the Rams staff, former DC Brandon Staley and the blockade defense led by Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey inspired many smaller role players to step up in Pro Bowl-like fashion. John Johnson III, Troy Hill, and the aforementioned Littleton won’t give the defense as much grace as last year’s squad under newly hired defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

What Ernest Jones faces in the upcoming year may be more of an accountability for coverage within the defense as Darious Williams, Taylor Rapp, and the rest of the secondary continue to fill in the 3-4 scheme left by Staley. The rookie LB will have to play a key part in this defense, through his volition or not, and hope that the line up front will continue to pressure quarterbacks into not challenging the secondary.

Following Day 2 of the draft, as the Los Angeles Rams prepared to be on the clock, there was a feeling that couldn’t help but surface once the time arrived for the 103rd pick to be delivered and Ernest Jones’s name was announced after already going with Tutu in the second. I couldn’t help but consider a possibility far more appealing after the picks were made, which sounds a little armchair GM, but what was a real shot at improving both linebacker and wide receiver for the Rams. The fantasy draft order orchestrated that day was dependent on choosing fellow SEC East linebacker out of Mizzou Nick Bolton, who was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs right after the Atwell pick.

Rams fans are certainly intrigued by the prospects of another talented skill player under the Sean McVay regime with the second-round pick, though the position doesn’t feel as strained within the depth chart compared to the Rams’ current LB corps. Van Jefferson still appears as the rightful heir to the no.3 WR slot in the depth chart behind Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods, which gives the Atwell pick a cloud of rushed judgement by Les Snead. The alternate pick in Nick Bolton had a productive year with 95 tackles, two sacks, and five passes defended in his final year of collegiate play. Most importantly, his goal-line stuff against Tennessee is reminiscent of Jadeveon Clowney’s hit in college which delivers a seismic tackle preventing the Vols from scoring.

By addressing the void at the linebacking position with Bolton and still potentially landing a wide receiver like Amon-Ra St. Brown or Dez Fitzpatrick in the third, drafting Ernest Jones could be the pick to watch for the season that helps evaluate Les Snead’s longevity with the organization after this year. The bigger (237 lbs) and faster (4.60) Bolton could prove to be the ultimate steal from Day 2, but the Rams are eager to prove Jones will be the bigger hit from Round 3.

In the end, Ernest Jones’s ceiling as a player remains high based on his elite strength and awareness on the field. He may not feel like the EXACT linebacker for the Rams in their time of need, but the cliché remains true: it’s never a mistake to draft talent. His 199 total tackles in college give Jones the prospect of being as impactful a player as other NFL talents like Darius Leonard or Blake Martinez.

The only question remaining at this point is: how many wide receivers do we really need? Enough! How do you feel about the pick? Vote and leave you opinion below!

Notice how Brad Holmes talked him up, obviously before he took the Lions job. So all those saying they missed Holmes in this draft after seeing the Jones selection... Think again.

I think there's a good chance Jones ends up one of our starting ILBs this season

I think he could be our starting Mike backer this year and take over for JJ3 making the calls.

I may be off here....but Jones speed to me opens up the possibility of us to have both Jones and Kiser on the field in our base 3-4 set. With our base nickel package having Jones on the field, with Burgess as our slot corner...Rapp at SS ...and Fuller at FS.

That presumes a lot things......but to me the upside is that it maximizes the best skillsets of everyone and leaves us more physical with both of those packages. Burgess is a really good slot cover guy..and a physical tackler.... Jones is a sideline to sideline guy....and with JJ gone, Rapp's complete focus can be on playing SS which more aligns with his skillset.....

I like the possibility of us being a more physical defense without sacrificing our speed

Rams LBs coach: Ernest Jones is 'exactly what we want in our linebackers'

Inside linebacker was a clear position of need for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 NFL draft, and they didn’t waste much time addressing it. At No. 103 overall in the third round, they selected South Carolina linebacker Ernest Jones to join an unproven group of players at the position.

Jones went earlier than some analysts expected, but the Rams identified him as a player they really liked and fits the mold of what they want their linebackers to be. Linebackers coach Chris Shula shared some thoughts on Jones on the Rams’ third episode of “Inside the Draft,” saying the Rams became impressed by him early in the process.

“He was someone we identified early in the process as a guy that really fits the mold of exactly what we want in our linebackers,” Shula said.

Ted Monago, the Rams’ assistant director of college scouting, also saw Jones as a better athlete than he initially expected, and his awareness in zone coverage stood out to him.

“Better athlete than I thought. He’s instinctive, long arms, good tackler, good awareness in zone.”

Jones isn’t a lock to start from Day 1, but he certainly looks like one of the Rams’ better linebackers on paper and should contribute early as a rookie.

Athletically he's similar to Reeder, who had a slightly faster 40 than him. Where he's different than Reeder is his leadership obviously.

Monago's comments seem to say that he thinks Jones plays faster than his 40. But either way where we pick every year we're never going to get one of those high-end ILB prospects. Those guys consistently go early. What we have to do is hit on a second tier guy who can grow into something special like the other division teams have done in the past.

Bowman is a nice example of a guy who went round 3 if memory serves. That's the hope with this guy. He went where he did due to athleticism and film not being elite. But that doesn't mean they can't hit big on him. Very hopeful with this pick.

.

i remember the outrage when john johnson III was selected at the end of the 3rd. not athletic enough, just a jag, blah, blah.

just let these guys do their job and complain only after they prove to be the wrong choice.

.
JJ was my favorite pick of that draft

He’s more instinctual than Reeder and Reeders best quality was moving forward. Jones seems to have better range. I’ve warmed to this pick. I’m just not warmed to the first one. I like the rest especially when considering the low expectations of this draft class.

I agree with that. I think Jones might be much better than teams realize too due to that DL in front of him, they didn't do a very good job of protecting him. But I also think Reeder is going to give him a fight for that job and might have the edge due to knowing the scheme.

Now if Morris changes things up then that evens the playing field. So we'll see there.

Re: Tutu I'm not gonna get all negative, gonna wait and see with him. I admit it's a risky pick due to him being an outlier. But the guy does separate like crazy and I wonder what he would have done with a better QB throwing to him. He's going to have a better QB throwing to him this season that's for damn sure.

Nice to read the entire thread to get a good idea of everyone's thoughts, especially the Rams. What an interesting draft pick.

I admit to liking physical numbers like the 40 times, agility drills and the others. Some players have great instincts and the ability to process information on and off the field. Jones talks about studying to get in the right position. It wouldn't surprise me if he is a starter this year even without the great combine numbers.

Live reaction from Downtown Rams:

"They're really trying to have the worst draft..."

View: https://youtu.be/rPLC_1eH4DI?t=15674

Jake Ellenbogen is a 24-year old sportscaster from Upstate New York that co-hosts the Downtown Rams podcast, is the founder of Downtown Rams and Downtown Sports Network LLC. He covers the Rams and NFL Draft for the website.

Jake has been writing and commenting about the Rams for several years now. If the above age is correct, that means he started when he was a teenager.

How many of us have been Rams' fans for years? All the way back to our childhood. How strong were our opinions and knowledge when we were 16 or 18? Sure we had our opinions but were we qualified to provide meaningful commentary to others?

We were passionate fans. In today's world, a passionate fan can share his/her opinions with the masses. THAT technology does not make someone an expert or even particularly knowledgeable.

Jake Ellenbogen might be a nice guy and a knowledgeable football fan. THAT does not mean his opinions have any greater value than any of us. He's one of us ... but with a youtube show.
I liked the dude at first from him posting here until he tried to be like all the other media types out there being the 'first' to report something and totally blowing a Rams story years back (can't remember what it was now) but dude is becoming more and more of a jackass.

The other day his video came up on my youtube and I told him " you need to get the close up of the camera out your face you think to highly of yourself". What happened? He deleted my comment and left his stupid reply and subsequent videos he took the camera from his fat face. smh

Guess this is the result when you get big headed because someone from the Athletic ' follow you' on IG

p.s. mods did you guys delete my criticisms of Ernest Jones out this thread? I even like to criticize myself for being wrong if that is the case this year if Jones does blow up and become a beast.

I was talking to my friend who does analytics about Jones and told him that he didn't seem to fit the mold of what the Rams wanted, i.e. in terms of speed. He said Jones dropped in the draft because of his pedestrian 40 time (4.73) and 10 yd split (1.63) at the Combine for a 6'2" 230 lb LB. He said what the Rams were obviously looking at was the analytics of his game film which showed his game speed to be in the mid 4.6 range. That would fit the Rams parameters.

Given that I see Jones more as a complimentary ILB to Reeder not as his replacement. Young has been a decent zone coverage MO but at times has looked soft against the run. Staley de-emphasized the ILB position oftentimes opting for a second SS. Given the expectations that Morris will play more of a conventional 3-4 hybrid scheme which would give him better strength against the run particularly on early downs, I can see both Reeder and Jones on the field giving them two ILBs who should be able to play the run better than Reeder and Young.

Young is in his final contract year with no dead cap. So drafting an ILB with enough speed to cover makes sense. Unlike most, I don't see them benching Reeder for Kiser who is also in a contract year with minimal dead cap. The problem with Kiser is his injury history. Replacing Kiser with Rozeboom and Young with Moncrief would seem likely. Both Kiser and Howard are good players when healthy but that is exactly the problem, their health. Since Moncrief is a vet there would be no rush to play Jones, who can spend time strengthening and polishing his technique as he acclimates to the NFL.

I see them being either 3-4 deep at ILB on the final roster. Since it's a part-time position for the MO carry only 3 ILB would not be out of line because of their depth at safety. Reeder and Jones would seem to be locks with Rozeboom and Moncrief vying for that #3 and 4 roster spot. This would give them 4.6 speed at ILB which is what is needed in today's NFL.

.

last season was reeder's second year in the league and he was the weakest link in coverage. even an old, running on fumes, geriatric frank gore got loose from him so easily in the clutch.

until proven otherwise ernest jones is the man in the middle. spending a 3rd on a ilb is unheard of for the mcvay/snead rams.

my ilbers would be jones and kiser. if travin howard shows well in camp and can stay healthy it will be jones and howard.
