I too think Gurley will go OFF this game. I think most of Gurley's problems in the NFCCG was above the neck....I hope they get his mind right and HE is the star of the Super Bowl.

I think Gurley is going to be locked in. He's in a city he's very familiar with and he's clearly more comfortable than he was in NO. He's also taking the pressure off of himself and allowing himself to be more in the moment.

I expect between CJ Anderson and Todd Gurley that our run game is going to be something special in this game.

I dunno why, but I also feel like Gurley is going to break a long one in this game. Like one of those one cut and go numbers where he just EXPLODES through the line and takes off.

Brady doesn't do so well when he gets knocked around. I'm thinking he's not going to do so well ...

You know AD, Suh and Brockers want their pound of flesh, especially with all this stuff about how the Patriots OL will "surprise" AD and eliminate him from the game.

So, anybody read anything anywhere about former Rams players addressing the team about the prior loss? I'm curious if McVay has said anything about any of this of or if would use it as a motivating tool? I personally think it would have been good to have done before they left for ATL so it seems more than likely it won't happen.

I am trying to think of anyone besides Stan Kroenke (as minority owner), who was around for Super Bowl 36? This is a new thing and so I don't know if any current Rams would be that motivated by that long ago loss. It's just old fans that care about it, I think..

They wouldn't have got there without cheating. Its freaking incredible that crap like that keeps spewing out of people's mouths without one word spoken of the cheating. None of the punishment cost them a SB so you know they think it is a reasonable risk. So what makes you think they aren't cheating now.

They're definitely cheating. We'll just have to overcome it.

The technological means of cheating have advanced exponentially since the prehistoric days of sneaking into practices and videotaping signals. There is hi def NFL game tape on every game, every play, every angle. New computer statistical breakdowns of every tendency. National technical means of verification. Drones, satellites, hacking into emails, false stories in the press. Litigation against referees. But who knows what else the Evil Empire is up to.

The only way to overcome all this is to kick their asses on the field.

Melvin Gordon: I need the Rams to lose
Posted by Josh Alper on January 28, 2019

The Chargers have made “Fight for L.A.” one of their slogans since moving from San Diego to Los Angeles and starting to try to build up their fanbase in their new home.

They made that move a year after the Rams and both teams are trying to sell tickets to the new stadium that they will both call home in the future. A Rams Super Bowl win would likely give their efforts a boost on that front and Chargers running back Melvin Gordon put any ill feelings about his team’s playoff loss behind him when asked if civic pride dictated his rooting choice.

“Yeah, I don’t want the Rams to win,” Gordon said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I live in L.A. Y’all know. I live in L.A. and I’ve got to hear that all day. You know how many signs, Rams signs, I see? I need them to lose. I don’t care where y’all put me on TV saying this. I need them to lose. I love the guys over there. I’m cool with Todd [Gurley]. I’m cool with all them boys. But man, I need them boys to lose.”

Neither outcome is a particular positive for the Chargers as they haven’t shown an ability to snap the Patriots’ stranglehold on the AFC, but it would probably be a bit easier to deal with it from across the country.

ESPN: Rams CB Nickell Robey-Coleman: Age has 'taken a toll' on Pats' Tom Brady

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman isn't afraid to give Tom Brady and the New England Patriots bulletin board material for Super Bowl LIII.

Robey-Coleman told Bleacher Report that he expects the Rams can get to the Patriots' quarterback "all over the place."

"We have to stay connected," he told the website. "And he will slowly start to reveal himself."

The Rams' cornerback made headlines for his fourth-quarter hit on New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis in the NFC Championship Game that wasn't penalized for pass interference or helmet-to-helmet contact (he was fined $26,739 later in the week). And now this: Robey-Coleman said age is starting to affect the 41-year-old Brady's play.

"Age has definitely taken a toll. For him to still be doing it, that's a great compliment for him. But I think that he's definitely not the same quarterback he was," Robey-Coleman told Bleacher Report. "Movement. Speed. Velocity. Arm strength. He still can sling it, but he's not slinging it as much. Whatever he was doing -- because of his age and all that -- he's not doing as much of that anymore. He's still doing the same things; he's just not doing as much of it. And sometimes, it's not the sharpest. But it still gets done."

Brady and the Patriots have used perceived doubts about them as fuel this postseason. After the Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the divisional round, Brady told CBS Sports during a postgame interview that "everybody thinks we suck and can't win any games" when asked about being underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Brady led the Patriots to an overtime victory over the Chiefs and has completed 71.1 percent of his passes for 691 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in New England's two playoff victories.

Robey-Coleman, who will primarily be defending Julian Edelman as the Rams' starting nickle corner, told Bleacher Report that he has a hatred for the Patriots that was developed when he played for the Buffalo Bills.

"I've got Buffalo blood running through my veins, so you know I hate these guys," Robey-Coleman told the website. "I naturally hate them. I never liked New England."

The Rams aren't alone in talking trash this week. At the Patriots' Super Bowl sendoff in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday, safety Patrick Chung told the crowd, "We're gonna go out there and kick their ass, baby!"

Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who played for the Patriots last season, responded at Los Angeles' send-off, telling those in attendance, "Hey Chung, we heard you talking that talk back there in Foxborough ... let's get straight," before dropping the microphone on the stage.

NRC needs to focus on #11, that's it!

Especially after a horrendous NFC Championship Game...I'll give the Patriots one bit of credit, they are silent and NRC needs to www.zipit.com!

Truly shocking! Saying age has taken it’s toll on somebody! News flash it does to all of us. Some sooner than other. If the Patriots have to use this to motivate themselves that’s pretty pathetic. There’s way too much focus on this.

Have you guys seen this? Why? Just why would you do that??

https://nypost.com/2019/01/28/nicke...s-out-old-tom-brady-in-first-super-bowl-shot/

Nickell Robey-Coleman made a name for himself when he got away with perhaps the most blatant pass interference that wasn’t called in history in the NFC Championship.

And now the Rams cornerback is going after Tom Brady and the Patriots as Los Angeles prepares to play in Sunday’s Super Bowl LIII.

Robey-Coleman, in an interview with Bleacher Report, blasted Bill Belichick’s “arrogance” and saved some of his strongest words for Brady.

The 27-year-old believes the Rams defense can get to Brady “all over the place.”

“We have to stay connected,” Robey-Coleman said. “And he will slowly start to reveal himself.”

Reveal himself not as arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, but as an aging player who can be beaten.

“Age has definitely taken a toll,” Robey-Coleman said. “For him to still be doing it, that’s a great compliment for him. But I think that he’s definitely not the same quarterback he was.’’

Robey-Coleman pointed to Brady’s “movement, speed, velocity, arm strength. He still can sling it, but he’s not slinging it as much. Whatever he was doing — because of his age and all that — he’s not doing as much of that anymore. He’s still doing the same things; he’s just not doing as much of it. And sometimes, it’s not the sharpest. But it still gets done.”

Strong words from a player who — until now — is most known for saving the Rams from almost certain defeat in New Orleans, when he made a desperate play to break up a Drew Brees pass that might have set up the winning score from the Saints, sending them to Atlanta instead of the Rams.

Beaten on a third-and-10 pass play with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter, Robey-Coleman tackled Brees’ intended target, Tommylee Lewis.

But the officials incredibly didn’t call pass interference, which would have given New Orleans a first down and the chance to drain most of the clock. The Saints were forced to kick a field goal, which allowed the Rams to come down and kick a field goal of their own to set up OT, where Los Angeles won it with another field goal.

The NFL fined Robey-Coleman $26,739 for targeting on the play.

Not surprisingly, Robey-Coleman is confident the Rams will knock off New England. And his plan to beat the Patriots, in addition to getting after Brady, is pretty graphic.

“Stick a dagger in them,” Robey-Coleman said. “They’re not a team that you want to play around with. Stick the dagger in them and don’t leave it in them! Take it out! And let them leak. Let them leak slow. Put the dagger in them, pull it out, and let them leak slow. Just kill ’em slowly. That’s how you do them.”
