I know some feel the run game is an area that needs to be established or even be the primary game plan on Sunday against the Bears..... but....

........what I have watched with the Rams when slowing the game down and be over-methodical, we just don't get the ball in the endzone and we end up settling for field goals and or watching our great ST's punt the ball.

When the Rams go up-tempo on offense it seems we get the ball in the endzone more often.... I don't have a stat sheet to pull out of my ass that's longer than the state of California to show this type of trend, but I really hope the Rams come out of the gate hot with the offense...... 30 plus points, we win hands down.

Negative.

Bears led the league in INTs, with their safety accounting for 7 alone (he led the league amongst players)

You can’t be one dimensional or they will make plays that you don’t want.

They also just lost their best linebacker.

Balanced offense and don’t get too pass happy (like we tend to do). I imagine both Williams and Corum will average over 5 ypc. If that’s the case and if the bears can’t generate a pass rush, kill them off play action

Good points:

But I feel bootlegs and underneath to the TE's will be there all evening for the Rams. I'm more worried about our backs fumbling the ball in the cold weather, though Williams and Corrum have been sure handed all season

I think the opposite. The pass sets up the run.

2 of 4 I agree.

Not sure what you mean by "Run sets them up"
Of course you do, because you're always in disagreement
Maybe just read what is written, it might help
Rams consistently lead the league in play action passing. Its an absolute staple of McVay's offense. Anyone who doesnt get that, hasnt watched a Rams game
And what makes play action work? Right, teams expecting run

Makes total sense

The ball is gonna be hard as a rock and hard to catch. No doubt the rams will pass, but it's gonna be running the rock, and who can keep it away from the other offense the most. ST is gonna be big this game too.

The ball is always hard as a rock, especially one coming off the arm of Stafford'. To me a ball feels just as hard in 70 degree weather as it does in 30 degree weather... especially a pass hitting your hands at 40-50 mph (IME)

Jeez

I'm not stating you're dead wrong on all your points, I just see it differently on one of them.... 2 of 3 I agree... one of them I don't get what the point is.

Do you get paid to be right all the time? And get docked for being wrong?
You spend too much time trying to disagree that you talk in absolute circles

Thought that was authored by Neal Peart of Rush....

That could make a great song.

Success in play action has very little to do with how well a team runs the ball. McVay has talked about this in interviews before and the analytics and data overwhelmingly point this out. Some of the best play action teams in football over the past several years have just been mediocre running the football.

The Rams are a great running team because of the passing game. We have the highest success rate in the league running the ball vs light boxes, which you tend to see on passing downs like 1st and 10 or 2nd and medium. But when teams stack the box and are expecting the run, we fall to 20th in success rate. Notice how we continually struggle in obvious running situations like third and short or fourth and short?? It’s because when teams think we are going to run the ball, they are able to turn us into a below average rushing team. When teams think we are going to throw, that’s when we gash them.
