I’m trusting McSnead will get to a Super Bowl level team within 3 years. I realize that may mean without Donald snd Stafford but we all knew their elite play wasn’t going to last forever. What I want to see in 2023 is the effective launch of a plan to build towards that lofty goal. That has to include strengthening the OL, improvement in the run game and establishing elite-level Edge pressure. If I see that I’m optimistic for 2024. If I don’t see that I may have to play a lot more golf on Sundays.

But, with where we are drafting we can be certain there won’t be rare talent available.
This type of opinion can happen when you read too many draft guides and watch too much "scouting expert" youtube. And it is untrue.

Look where we got Kupp. He is a rare talent. It is just that his actual talents were not appreciated by the NFL scouting groupthink.

I think the key for the Rams, offensively speaking, is to draft smart players. Robinson for example I don't think is particularly smart, he's fantastically gifted in his physicality and catch radius but the mental side he never did get up to speed IMO. Everyone has their areas of gifts to be able to play at this level. Some are great athletes. Some have great body control or strength or what have you. Kupp is extremely strong and agile, and super intelligent and focused.

So as it pertains to the draft, which honestly is a crap shoot, they simply need to get lucky and get a better haul than usual this offseason. And looking at our recent drafts it doesn't look like that is likely as we have not drafted well. But after that season McVay just endured and knowing what is coming if they don't draft well and knowing how competitive this guy is... I would not be so quick to bet against him. Meaning it is wise to leave that sliver of hope I think.

McVay to Rams fans...

I think people are crapping on Robinson a little hard

I rewatched a few games specifically looking at Robinson and he was open more often than not.

But I could tell Kupp was the first read a lot of the time and Stafford had zero time to go to his second read (Robinson) with that shitty OL.

Yes I am aware and I agree he was open. But this is also why I think Robinson was behind in the scheme, which is known to be varied and one of the more complicated out there due to McVay's high standards and reads built in to the pass game. My theory is he was out there but the QB was looking elsewhere because if the wideout is reading shit wrong the QB is gonna get all that attention at the postgame presser due to completing TD passes to the defense.

Stafford had shit stacked against him for sure. No real time to throw, and no reason to feel confident on third and long that he could set his feet. It was a perfect storm in a bad way for sure.

But the silver lining to this theory is that if it's true then maybe Robinson gives us a shot in the arm this season. Because I would hope after having a full season to digest the playbook and a second camp he should be up to speed mentally.

math was never my strong suit , but just how many players do the Rams still have left of the active roster ?

can't be more then about 6

Rams bringing back Shelton suggests he will be a starter. RG most likely.
How can that be? ....Brian Allen is penciled in as the starter @ center the pencel has a humungous eraser, ...last season when Allen was not as damaged as he is now.... got injured & went IR before the whistle sounded for the kickoff in the very first game.

Don't think anyone is betting on Allen getting many snaps in this offense this season he is just here to make you & other Californians feel better.

Coleman Shelton will be the main center this season.

We aren't making noise this year unless other teams just have injuries that even the playing field. Team will be too young and inexperienced. Hope they prove me wrong.

What are the odds of someone like Kupp being available at that draft slot? It is easily less than 1% of the time. So if you want to base presumption on that kind of metric sure, our entire draft and I drafted free agents could be HOFers.

Can you give me any hope that Stafford will be okay this year. All reports so far say he hasn't thrown a football yet.

Who gave you all these reports? Teams can begin workouts April 17th. That's a little less than a month away. Unless he's thrown with his kids, that'll be the first time he can throw with the Rams.

My friend at work pays a lot of attention to football news and he is passing this info to me.

These are unofficial reports so it could be just bull shit but hearing medical doctors describe his injury well .....

I am not getting warm and fuzzy feelings here.

I hope the reports my friend hears is completely untrue.

You're on this site every day! "My friend pays a lot of attention to football"? Well, I don't want this to come out wrong but your friend is either nuts or fucking with you. Does he wear a light blue baseball cap with a lightning bolt on it? Red and Gold with weird lettering? Ask him where he's heard these reports? TMZ? Florio?

No doubt - because last year was a shining example of sucking at the O-line and RB aspect of the game..... Scoring points and moving the ball will cover a lot of weakness.....
And a terrible pass rush sack wise especially.

I will say he has been more right than wrong so far on a lot of the info that is given me but that was mostly on Commodes stuff.

The only thing that I have ever passed on from him about the Rams are these Stafford rumors. And I also have been interested in statements of doctors on Stafford's condition. A lot of them have stated what Old has stated from his nephew's doctor friend. This neck injury that I keep hearing about reminds me of Peyton Mannings neck situation. It probably isn't the same injury but anytime injury's to necks occur, I do not see a fast healing time. And my friend adding his 2 cents that he has heard that Stafford hasn't thrown at all yet, has me really concerned that we won't see Stafford much next year. Or he will be a shell of himself.

But that is exactly why I posted on this board that I would like to hear from some of you if you have heard anything about Stafford's throwing ability right now.

I want to know if my friend is full of Bullshit or not.

By the way - I believe this is the first time I ever said I heard reports about something

Usually I just give my opinion on something (and I admit my opinions can be full of shit)
