I dont know, Vegas will do Vegas when the game are being played.
We'll see how this plays out, but for the moment its a QB swap and 8 mill less in cap space (or a player we have to let go/not re-sign)
It's probably just their analysis on how people will bet on the Rams now that they have Stafford.

They don't actually do analysis on how good the team actually is with Player A vs Player B

Yeah, I'm not sure why anyone thought his play in GB this season was his fault. No one player has gotten us anywhere. This is a good team and a team that can win with Goff and Wolford.......I think that is the problem.....Goff hasn't locked it down and McVay knows he can take a different piece and make something happen.

The other thing for me triggered when someone else here said that Aaron Donald turns 30 soon. That means a Win NOW mentality for the Rams. It made it clear that they will do something big in order to make that happen, including sacrificing the future for now,

I don’t think Jared Goff was the answer or the future.Mcvay made the best of the situation & Goff is a solid QB.Playing with a broken finger & the level he did was nice to see.Wish him the best in his future.Good luck on the turf though.-lol
Aaron Donald to me is only as good as his last game. His last game he was crying & upset The Rams lost.I know deep down in his HEART he felt bad for his SELFISHNESS.Through his career he has had issues at times controlling his emotions. That penalty was the wrong time & place. He knows that.
Aaron Donald will take more of a Leadership role.Brockers coming back is a good thing if The Rams go back to more of a 4-3 defense.I do know the future.

I just got done loading two semi loads of hogs (335) gonna have a few Busch Lights and chill.

I'll start and end with my thoughts quick.. If he's a Ram, I'll support him. If he's not, I'll still support him. Do I like him as a person? Yes. As a player? Not so much right now.

That's it. Long story short.

To all my fellow ROD friends, I enjoy all conversations, heated or not, and no matter how much I disagree, it doesn't make me think of anyone less or more. It's nice to have differences because it opens a new point of view.

Cheers y'all, it's beer:30.

Nice ! Cheers & hope the weekend found you well.Solid post & thoughts.

It used to also be off limits to attack players but that seems to have been halted for the Jared Goff discussions.

I still laugh at Old Schools post.

The thing about Jared Goff ,especially the timing of this post yesterday is that this trade thing has been floating around.Jared Goff got no reassurance from McSnead at all.Mcvay almost always keeps things in house & Goff seems to be the exception here.
Is as Ram Fans read into all this open Sports Talk drama, especially when it comes to The Rams.

I’ve always been a Stafford fan in The NFL.When he was at Georgia I had some doubts. Now that he is a Ram?
Here we are. I like Jared Goff, but not so much as a Franchise QB.

What I’ll say about Jared Goff is he likes his Tabaco.Weather that is a good thing or a bad thing.I’m just saying he does put a Wad between his cheek & gums.Robert Quinn had such a BIG WAD at practice that when he spit it out I looked like a Big Cow Paddy.I was looking at it in Awh.

Sorry I just don't see some conspiracy or undermining of the GM. If they wanted Dorsey running the show he'd be the same thing as Demoff but he's not he's an advisor to the GM.

If they made Dorsey the GM first then they don't get Holmes. The way they did it was to get all three. If I was Holmes, as soon as I heard about Dorsey I'd be backing out. They apparently don't trust their new GM. Or they wanted Dorsey and Snead's personnel department to go with him.

You might describe the past four years as "continued disappointment," but I don't. I'm not old enough to have watched the Rams when they were a yearly force during the 70's. The Rams I know are the Rams that had that incredible run during the GSOT era sandwiched between extended runs of embarrassing, shit football. The Rams I know were disappointment turning to apathy during almost the entirety of my time rooting for this team. So you can shit on our run with Goff, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the last four years. I enjoyed this season. And I hope to enjoy next season.

You may not have faith in Goff. That's fine. But I have watched enough losing with this franchise to recognize that the grass isn't always greener. Jared Goff is a starting caliber QB. Jared Goff has played some great football over the past four years. I believe Goff is capable of being that guy again. I don't want this franchise dumping him and saddling us with more shitty football because it can't be patient. I have a lot of respect for McVay, but he's not infallible. I know he can win with Goff. And I'd rather keep winning.

Total respect jrry32

I’ve gave seen The Rams of the past. They were very disappointing to many Old Rams Fans from the past.

Your point is really well taken by myself.Jared Goff & Sean Mcvay had a good run & did as good as any of The Rams teams in the past.I believe though Sean Mcvay might be The BEST HC in RAMS History. In the END of his CAREER he will be.Yes The Rams have had HOF coaches.

I appreciate Jared Goff as The Rams QB.All said though I’m glad he is gone.
Change is not always bad & Mcvay is a leader of MEN.The Rams are a WE first not ME first franchise right now.

Wonder if they were ever ran with Randall Cunningham or QBs during that era?

Think XFL & LA EXPESS days. When the league folded The NFL changed forever.. The NFL screwed Warren Moon.He would have had so many NFL records.

I was on record as saying I didn't think the Rams had the resources to pull of a trade like this. I was wrong. I was also in Goff's corner. I was cautiously optimistic they could fix some things and help him get back to where he was a few years ago. I also felt they had no choice but to stick with him another year.

I remember the 70's. We had some really good teams but were a quarterback away from being a great team. I also remember the lean years before McVay. That is why I was fine with Goff. Maybe we were a quarterback away from being a great team but I knew he could keep us competitive and give us winning seasons.

After all the losing seasons since 1990 winning seasons were looking pretty good to me. Even if it ended with first or second round playoff losses. McVay want's more than that. That is why he wanted to change quarterbacks. I cannot fault him for that. We all want to see a championship. The quarterback position has been uprgraded. So now we have a shot.

The thing that most of us can't understand is how anybody thinks Stafford is even a lateral move to Goff, even Goff this year at his worst. I've yet to have anybody explain it except so say they like him more than Goff.

I’m not a big stat guy. What I notice though is pocket presence.Keeping a play alive.Being able to make certain throws at anytime.
In Goff there have been to many wasted plays. In Stafford he has kept a lot of plays alive, putting more pressure on Defenses.

They're not.

Totally disregard anything Stafford to the Rams.

Wow... I was completely full of shit...

This thread could dish out Ls to posters who think they know as well as any maybe ever in this forum's history.

I mean...wow. But reflection is important.

and I do remember a day or so after the trade was announced and I went and looked at Stafford film that I was fully on board, but in the lead up?

yeah, almost no one was for it "and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something"

Same. That, combined with me quitting on #16 had me welcoming this trade and doing a 180.

Stafford proving EVERYONE wrong in this thread.

I mean, in the posts after the game, the only reference to Goff was "Goff doesn't make that throw at the end of the game"

I mean...wow.

What a difference a year makes! 24 little half-months....
What a difference a year makes! And the difference is Matthew... (sorry, not good at this)

Damn, didn't occur to me that by necro-ing a thread that people might think we were considering trading Stafford...

If I woke up to that, I'd be shook.

So THIS is why necro-ing threads is frowned upon.... hmmmm

I was reading through this thread and it’s amazing where we are sitting today from the few days before we actually traded for Stafford.

To put some Stafford perspective out there for this coming year.

Fastest the 50k yards. What does the near future hold for Matt and our Rams? Going to be very interesting to see..

Thinking he’ll be able to get that come back record with us just as long as bitch ass Brady retires.

This was a fun read. In hindsight, some posters don't look very football-savvy.

Allen-2-McVay who pointed-out that "the salary cap implications to the Rams would not allow for a trade" looks particularly Dopey right now.

Seriously though, Shout-Out to Liberator who pretty much stood alone for days in liking the rumored trade.

Ah yes, always fun to go back and read all of the posts demanding McVay be fired and talking about how terrible of a coach he is. Like most gameday threads.
This thread was more about Stafford's short-comings and limitations.

Outside of Liberator, I don't think anyone initially saw him as a clear QB-upgrade for the Rams.
