That said, its a head scratcher to see so many bad calls without the "makeup call" thrown in there
Apparently we're still paying for the NRC non-call in 2018!!!!

I've seen games like that, where 1 call makes the difference. And if it's late, there is no make up call. But the refs did make the Seattle game even. They made two horrible calls (for the punter, and against Ramsey) and then didn't call two obvious penalties (grounding and taunting). In their mind that must seem even. I've never seen a game with 4 totally obvious bad calls/non calls on one team.

5 if you call the pointing of his finger by Metcalf.

That was egregious taunting as well.

The super irritating part is, based on replay that can be shown SECONDS after the play, everyone watching the game knew that was not roughing the kicker. Why can't someone communicate that to the refs so they can reverse the call and GET IT RIGHT? Isn't that fair and right for all involved parties?
So did we just see in the Vikings game the play being reversed within seconds because they officials are using the replay?
Did Seattle making the playoffs really make a difference, or is this just for the playoffs

I really don't think there is any kind of rigging the games going on. I just think there is a lot of incompetence among the refs. Why they aren't full time is just beyond me. Not like the NFL couldn't afford it. I also think they really let themselves get influenced by coaches and fans in the stadium which causes home cooking. Why the NFL doesn't hold them to a higher standard is beyond me. Also I can't figure out when they make an obviously bad call or miss something major why the NFL can't buzz down to them and correct their mistake.

They did use instant replay and change calls on the field at least 4 times in the vikings game. I hope it isn't just for the playoffs.

Let's hope it continues. I also mean stuff like the personal foul on Ramsey that shouldn't have been and the non call in Metcalf that should have been a personal foul

They made several references to expedited review.

But they dont reverse penalties, like the ridiculous roughing the passer call against the Giants late in the game
That's what is most annoying about replay, that there are only certain applications for which it can be used. Nonsense, they should be able to review any play, or penalty

Happened a bunch in Ravens Bengals game too and they called it “Replay Assistance” as if it’s a new tool in place.

It is so effective it makes a mockery of what the regular season is like. No brainer to make it like this from now on but I’m not holding my breath given our NFL owners.

I read an article on how much heat the NFL is getting from that last Rams game, so yes I think it forced their hand.

Just have a ref upstairs with full authority to change any call. If he sees something quick and obvious on the replay then he can radio the refs on the field to change the call. But it has to be quick. The game has to keep moving. The key would be not to get every call exactly right, just the obvious ones. And if the sky judge misses something or the game moves on then "oh well." At least it would be better than what we have now.

If they made all penalties reviewable, they wouldn’t be able to sway games using holding, illegal contact, horse collar, offsides/motion etc.

This seems doable and simple. Do it, NFL.

It’s clear that the Refs were giving the Seahawks some home cooking.

You say that like it's a bad thing. LOL.

Give me a ref's position and the Cowboys will beat the whiners 56 -0.

But seriously, the refs really kept Miami in the game also with some of their calls. The pick off Beasley's arm was bad the defender pulled his arm and caused his shoulders to turn which is what caused the INT on that play with the Bills holding an 8 point lead.
