Inexcusable incompetence today. Made the game feel like it was fixed.
Mcvay was really frustrated after this being the 2nd game. IMO he took a deep breath & thought about the draft pick he might get from it.Add that The Rams never quit!! They just got screwed.
This forward pass thing really upset me.Not sure what game, but when a ball goes forward. How does count as a fumble & not a forward pass. The NFL gave JAGS a free pass to the playoffs. Finger was still on the ball & the ball went forward.

—Now last week with Baker the ball went forward as well.Don’t see that as a fumble either really, but ok ?

Then on that Chargers QB Jalen RAMsey had all ball. How is that not a fumble,or at least a backward pass? The ball never went forward of the body? Now I have to rewind that(those) plays again.
Point being those are NY vowed plays & the consistency should be there. Instead it is decided by THE NFL in a box. Talk about control, even at the slightest there is always a chance as mojo say ? Manipulation

Just upsetting thoughts

You never believed the NFL would be equitable did you? Tom Brady gets simply brushed and it's roughing. Stafford gets slammed and it's no call. This is how the NFL manipulates the outcome. Ramsey is standing there when he gets run into so the call is on Ramsey to allow the Hawks to get an opportunity to win. Not reviewed by NY?

They have simply been more blatant this year. All penalties of more than 5 yds should automatically be reviewed. If it slows the game down so be it. It's the NFL's fault for allowing these game changing obvious bad calls to determine games. All penalties should be allowed to be red-flagged.

IMO full time professional refs would go a long way in standardizing the calls, i.e. making them more consistent. With all the money they make but they can't afford to pay for full time professional refs? Proof it's all BS so they can manipulate games.

The officiating was horrible but to think the "NFL" wants Geno Smith in the Playoffs over Aaron Rodgers is just silly. They made the weekend schedule in hopes of Sunday night being a virtual playoff game
That said, its a head scratcher to see so many bad calls without the "makeup call" thrown in there
I actually thought the refs were playing fair when the Rams DB picked off Geno, then dropped the ball. I figured they would have called that a catch an fumble. Alas, there's just nowhere else that gets home cooking from the refs like Pittsburgh and Seattle

Saw some bad calls in the early games.

Phantom horsecollar on dolphin player when he only grabbed the jersey, allowing Miami to kick winning FG.

2 different games where grounding was called and QB was past the tackle. Plus I thought they didn't call those when it's close. They called Baker on one in the previous week too.

Then came the calls against the Rams. #92 was pushed into the kicker. Then the Ramsey call where he was just bracing himself for contact. Smith staying down made it look worse. And no grounding call against Smith when Wagner rushed him into an inc.
Diggs taunting after interception and no call. Seemed like the refs were for the shehawks.
They aren't going anywhere in the playoffs. Detroit would've done better.

I have championing full time refs like the world cup for a few years now. You can’t have billion dollar a year industry having it’s rules enforced by rental refs.

FWIW, I've been asking for that since the Reagan Administration.

You even forgot the face poke immediately after the Ramsey flag that should have offset it.

It's annoying as a Rams fan. If I was a Lions fan, I'd be livid. It sucks because people lose jobs over this stuff. If the Lions make the playoffs this year and win six games next year, there's a lot less pressure to make a change.

I kinda get the PF on Ramsey on the out of bounds collision. It happened on the Seahawks sideline, QBs are treated as China dolls and Ramsey has a target on his back (love his FU fire though). The running into the kicker was either lazy or biased refereeing. Not only was it not by definition running into the kicker it was clear the Rams player landed beside the pussy punter but the pussy punter actually hooked his arm around the Ram player. Any referee with 2 eyes and any integrity would have seen that. But again I’ll never blame a game on the refs. D played their asses off. Pass protection snd Mayfield sucked ass.

Doesn't help that we had our 12th different OL yesterday

Our pass protection was okay for the 3 games where we played the same players at OL and then we have another injury

The super irritating part is, based on replay that can be shown SECONDS after the play, everyone watching the game knew that was not roughing the kicker. Why can't someone communicate that to the refs so they can reverse the call and GET IT RIGHT? Isn't that fair and right for all involved parties?

No the NFL wanted GB Vs the niners so I don't think they rigged it...I just think the refs either completely dumb or they had some type of vested interest let alone the one ref is from Seattle so that RT there bothers me. The NFL just doesn't hold the refs to any accountability which then calls them intp play. They should realize by not questioning and fining refs they then are labeled or held accountable by people saying they are rigged cheating etc.
.
Time for NFL to step up. How do you not go to a blandino type set up where he can call down. It's creates more jobs and ensures that at least calls would be way more accurate.

Yeah I intentionally left that out... I counted it in there though because that whole sequence was bullshit.

Like I said, this is exactly the way the League wants it. Gives them the flexibility to control a game and everyone just says bad officiating. It all really started in Brady's 1st SB win. From then on you will notice how all the SBs have been close.

IMO the NBA is worse and even more transparently bad. It has been since David Stern resuscitated the league in the 80’s. I stopped watching that shit show years ago.

Again JMO, but the NFL game really hit a peak of quality around 2005 or 2008 or so…and has been declining slowly ever since mainly due to officiating, instant replay and all of the analysis paralysis that stuff brings.

Now more than ever, to me, it feels manipulated and more like a production designed to create drama that reels in the more casual fans.

I didn’t say rigged. Manipulated, swayed and influenced are more accurate terms.

Traveling. Loose ball foul.
Holding. Illegal contact.
These are calls that are made constantly and are also ignored constantly. Seems a pretty convenient tool to sway games to me.
Exactly Mojo, manipulated. Can keep games close to keep more people watching.

Yeah, just put one ref in the booth who can radio down as soon as he sees the obvious shit. Not asking for a full review of all calls, but the totally obvious ones that the whole world knows is wrong but the fucked up refs. It wouldn't even add time.

I read this also. It shows it’s not just “sour grapes” from us Rams fans.
I noticed it was 120 likes to 20 dislikes in the comment section of that article when mentioning DK Metcalf should have been penalized after the Ramsey PF.
