You know I think I recall the 49ers getting destroyed by the Eagles early in the season, game one or two, and the 49ers went on to win the super bowl that year. Maybe that's the Rams destiny this year.

First off, the Cardinals were on their game today and clearly improved on defense.

I think their offensive success was mostly due to our defensive issues. Our defensive lack of talent and lack of familiarity with all the new faces.

The Oline injuries and massive hole at LT today was too much to stay competitive. Not only are two starters missing in Avila and A. Jackson but the backup LT Noteboom is out and two other starters are not 100% at RT and RG. What a mess.

Add the WR injuries to boot. Two Pro Bowl level guys in Kupp and Puka.

Pass rush is a Major problem. It appeared that once again Fiske was stonewalled most of the game and the rest were subpar.

Might need to consider implementing some exotic blitz packages with LBers, CB's and Nickel guys at some point.

Our two slow ILBers are a massive problem.

The CB situation should get better as the communication gets better with experience.

The deep safety help was atrocious. Lake is too slow to cover deep and Kinchens I believe it was was getting toasted. Don't quote me as I haven't rewatched the tape and turned off the TV at halftime.

Mcvay Teams find ways to watch tape and get better.

Lots of improvement ahead with young guys getting experience and injured dudes getting better.

One positive - It's early. The time to get hot is at the end, not the beginning.

Agree, but you can't make the playoffs early in the season, but you can dig a deep enough hole to prevent you from getting there early in the season.

I agree that the linebackers are sub par, and White is getting toasted too often. There was a play where Murray was scrambling near the 5 yard line. White started running toward the play and left Harrison Jr. all alone. Murray escaped the pressure and left Harrison undefended and he caught a long pass to convert a first down. It was maddening to watch the Rams keep missing chances to stuff Murray.

I'm not crying that the season is over, but clearly, some of the players that looked so good last season may have been because of the play and leadership of AD.

Trading Jones looking like a dumb ass mistake. Its obvious Rozeboom and Reeder are no good and should be bench warmers.
We might as well give Speights or Hummel a shot. It's hard for them to be worse than Reader.

Trying to find a silver lining in this mess. The whiners lost today and they looked vulnerable at times. Purdy looked human today. The Cardinals and Murray are a first half of the season kind of team and Shehawks can be beaten if the Rams right the ship. We get Kupp and Nacua back, along with competent OL, and we make a run at the end like last season. But the Rams need to suck it up and win a few games or the hole will be too big to climb out of.

I suspect starting Reeder for this game was a rookie DC mistake. That assumption that you can make him better, when his fucking film has well established who he is, smacks of hubris. This shit isn't rocket science. He's a good depth ILB but not the guy you want starting. And you don't want to have him at ILB when we face SF because shit's gonna get even uglier in the ground game.

Doesn't matter that Shula knows more than us. And I had a sinking feeling in that vid when McVay said Reeder would be starting prior to week one, in an almost defiant manner. It made me think they had some weird sort of belief system going with him in-house, which is crazy to me. Starting him vs Arizona was a bad call, UNLESS Speights is worse. Which I doubt.

So like I said this time last week we need to make the change. Speights needs the prep and snaps for SF. Next man up let's go.

SF will be plenty sharp vs the Rams. The LA fans will be scared shitless of this game (rightly so btw) and will sell their seats for cash. It will be an embarrassing SF home game. And if the coaching staff doesn't get busy min-maxing this depth chart and prepping them for a physical slugfest we're gonna see 200+ on the ground with Shitter fans howling in the stands.

Verse I agree is definitely a silver lining.

People were down hard on us last year with a lot less talent. We had AD, which is a big difference, but this year we have what looks like a very nice edge duo. So the pressure threat should improve as we go and those two improve. Plus I think Fiske is a hard worker who will get there. These guys need to sort their shit and work together as one unit up front.

Detroit they got gassed late. Arizona they got trucked. But if you look at that trucking they received a lot of it due to not coordinating their rush. Dudes vacating their run lanes, or the edges taking wide angles and letting Murray escape killed them.

We have the QB. We have the coach. Might get ugly vs SF but counting these guys out now would be a mistake.

I picked BAL in Survivor and I'm super pissed off right now.
I almost took them but decided to go with the Chargers who dunked Carolina. Glad I survived this week because my regular picks sucked ass. I missed a ton of them. :laugh3:

To think about it, We did take a few punches during our our championship year. Jags 37-7, SF 31-10. Few Games like this usually turn us around. Cowboys and Packers Games Last year did it. Turned around in Sea game.

What I want to know is why LA is the injury capital this year.

The Dodgers have basically lost their first 10 starting pitchers to injuries and the Rams are getting injured left and right.
Pretty amazing aint it. However, in a year that has been so improbable........you all know the rest"

Dodgers win last night salvaged my day!!! Looking forward to Yamamoto tonight.

That was a rough one to watch.
I remember watching this match-up live in 2017 when we shut out the Cardinals in England.
That was 33-0.

No way would I have guessed it would go as bad as it did today.
We made the Cardinals look like contenders.

Difficult to understand McVay's vision for the team this year. Two weeks in and the team is an injury disaster. No pre season action.

McVay has been doing that (not playing starters in pre-season) since 2018.

The Rams' record in September for the past 6 years in 16-5; and that includes the awful 2022 season.
