I see nothing to vent about for me. Yes, there were issues with play calls and execution. Some head scratchers like not running TA at all. But overall? I see progression and I like it. We are still headed for the bye settled in, with Gurley full speed and maybe Quick back? Time for Foles and the o-line to get it together.

Next week is the big week to me. To keep the Cards within reach we need the tiebreaker and to clip their wins.

We can destroy the Cards and I'll still be upset about losing to the Roethlisbergerless Steelers. Ah well.. we'll see what happens once the O-line is cohesive

I'm super caught up in how obnxious that loss was because it was there for the taking, but if I'm being honest it wasn't the worst game.

Defense was good/great after the first couple drives.
Foles was fine other than the pick.

It really just came down to not being able to run the ball... at all... like zero... just completely futile

I think if we had won last week I wouldn't even be that upset about a loss like this. It was basically kinda what we expected. Defense was great. Offensive line was not. Still early in the season for such a young line.

Cards already up on SF 14-0 just 3 minutes into the game. Our D can handle them but we're gonna need an offense.

To the point of your thread, our defense was very very strong today vs the #1 offense in the NFL.

Just not enough playmakers on offense right now, but it is what it is. Kenny had a pretty good game and I hope they build on that.

This is the second game in a row where two plays could have turned a loss into a win. The Kendricks drop and the Joyner(?) missed interception in their territory. Make those two plays (just like last week), and this one is also a win and we're 3-0. 4 missed plays and we're 1-2. Shit happens, man. Can't pin that on the coaches when they clearly put their players in the right position to make those plays. What can you do? I'll just reset and plan on winning next week.

Probably a win if the team quits making penalties! Looks like some sprints are in order tomorrow.

This is the positive tread keep it light hearted. We did some good things I must say. Like Defence showed up today.

Defense played well after struggling in the first quarter. Austin and Britt played well. Kendricks can get separation.(check the vent thread for the other half of the formula) Our OL can actually pass block well.(except when they fail to recognize the blitz) Foles is effective when he's not throwing deep.

The anti vent - we have the talent to totally dominate any team we play on the defensive side of the ball. With our defense we should be in every game.

I cannot think of much positive right now but I will say this: we have a very young o-line and it is only 3 weeks into the season. IF they can pull together and become a strength as opposed to a weakness - even though I feel it is a big if - this team could be deadly.

Imagine Gurley, Mason, and Cunningham running behind an o-line that can make holes and pass block with the best of them?! With our defense, that could easily be enough to take us far. Foles, Britt, Quick, Austin, and Bailey are a mediocre yet capable group. Not nearly enough as is. But they could provide enough support to that sort of a ground and pound team.

Hope we scrap the zone-blocking scheme next week. These guys will likely do better at power-blocking, we did a really good job with that through midseason.

Defense was pretty solid, special teams were just ok. The offense needs to figure out how to put it together. I don't like the mixing in of zone blocking, you draft a bunch of big boys with power so why the mixing in of a blocking scheme that doesn't utilize their power. If we can get the OLine figured out there's enough in some play makers to get things done. We did put up 34 against the Seahawks 2 weeks ago, we can score points. This perpetual youth movement though is wearing thing we need these guys to get the experience and stop making stupid mental mistakes. I'm not giving up, heck I already paid for a trip to AZ next week. How sweet would it be to go in there and pull out an upset.

Every post in this thread that did not have at least one positive thing to say was deleted. Someone used the word "ignorant." How ignorant is it to bitch and moan in an anti-vent thread?

What may have not dawned on some of you is that the mods also get ticked off after a loss and we have to greatly restrain ourselves not to ban people left and right. You're welcome! Now let's have some positiveness in this thread, damn it. :sneaky:

Britt really impressed me. I've been hard on the guy and while I still am not sure he's long term starter quality player for a playoff-level team he is a very good possession WR and I'll take that with this bunch.

Austin looked really good. And that end around by Givens was a thing of beauty.

OL had some good run blocks on early run downs. Not enough but some and that's a change.

Lastly I think the play design had some bright spots too believe it or not. Lots of creative countering and movement but just too many execution problems.
