I absolutely hate doing that because it rarely ever works but I'm getting close to coming around to it. We just will not win without a top QB.

I don't like it either but we need a QB in the worst way. We really only need to fill one or two starting spots besides QB.

That penalty was on GRob. The announcer said it was Barksdale but it was on GRob who probably had his worst day yet.

Really ? I recall the refs calling it on Robinson but the announcers showing film of Barksdale with his hands inside an opposing players face mask. I haven't seen any replay on Robinson on that play, so can't comment on what I didn't see.

I keep watching both these picks and neither get better. Awful choices by Shaun on both. I've never seen a team lose so many sure victories. The Rams are amazing sometimes.

Hill threw two touchdown passes that were called back along with half a dozen big plays that were called back. He had Zuerlein in place for an easy FG that was blocked. That's at least 17 points he made possible but the team squandered. Blaming Hill is just wrong. Anyone could have made that last throw.

However, you are dead on correct about Schotty. It was horrible. Surrendering a first half possession AGAIN. WTF IS THAT?!?! Oh, yeah, and it lead to a FG which is what Rams lost by. SHOCKER!

Then he has absolutely no clock awareness. None. Zero. It's like he doesn't know there is a clock. Down by two scores with 3 minutes left? Run it up the middle.

Other than the above... Rams played hard. They killed themselves with penalties. They could have won despite Schotty had they just played disciplined.
Hill HAS to take some of the blame for this game. Sorry, he does. Schotty didn't force Hill to throw to a WR with two defenders covering him. Hill also wasn't very good for a lot of the game. Hill had some good moments here and there but he also had quite a few bad ones. They were also critical.

I agree Schotty deserves his fair share of the blame but I don't see why you keep defending Hill. You've been defending Hill since the decision to switch to Davis. Davis wasn't the answer but neither is Hill. They are both backups at best.

Trade up. This team needs a QB and interior OL in the worst way. The rest of the team is fine.
Throwing a rookie QB in there probably won't be the answer either. Look at Bortles and Bridgewater and Manual, etc. This offense is designed for a QB who doesn't make critical mistakes because they just don't throw the ball that much. When it is time to throw that 3rd and long or the even rarer attempt at pressuring the defense, they need a QB with some semblance of accuracy and good decision making.

When Mariota and Winston have had to face that...on rare occasions in college, they've looked just as bad as Bridgewater, Bortles, Mettenberger or any of the others do now.

My point is, trading UP to get one of these guys would be foolish. If they fall, okay it's worth considering but no way can this team afford to spend multiple picks to get any of the guys who may not even be coming out.

I can't watch this team freak up games in the fourth quarter. I can't do it, it's too much. That makes at least 4 now.

Mojo Ram not seeing what I see:
I liked the gameplan vs AZ, SF and Denver. I thought the run game + game managing QB play had been realized a few weeks ago.
Apparently not.
I'm old and forgetful but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Schotty calling passing plays when we're only yards from the goal line, usually having got there via the run, has happened many times before. Execution is important but not adapting to what's happening on the field and misuse of resources is what I know him for. Same thing with GW. Just once, I'd like to see our D play better, not just as good, in the second half. The same can be said about the O when you take away the prevent D's that skew our O stats in our favor.

We have lots of talent and we aren't using it well. Period. I don't see anything changing in the near future though.

Throwing in a rookie QB will be the answer if he's a good QB. He might not get us to the Super Bowl in 2015 but it will pay dividends in the future. Rams fans need hope. Shaun Hill and Austin Davis do not inspire hope.

Plus, I can easily point out that you are ignoring quite a few examples to the contrary when it comes to rookie QBs.

I'm pretty sure they both had penalties on that play but GRob's was really bad, IMO. He grabbed the facemask and held on. I'm not sure why the announcer said it was only Barksdale.

Do people think Mariota or Winston will fall to us? As of right now, I don't see how they could drop that far. I think we're looking at Hundley or someone else. Is he worth taking around #10 or so? I haven't watched him enough to say for sure but from what most people seem to think, I would see it as a reach.

The asking price goes way down when you get to around picks 3 and 4. One, if not both might still be there then.

Even if Hill completes that I still would have been pissed that BS made such a unnecessary risky play call in that situation. Just mind blowing...well onto the Walking Dead...I feel like a zombie right about now...

I'm seeing TB, NYJ, and possibly Washington as teams that will want a QB. All three could be at the top. If they aren't, I could see one of them trading up to the top to get their QB. We're going to have to outbid them and that KILLS your future. The thought of doing something like Washington makes me sick.

Oh? Please list the one's that you think would've been worth trading up for that compare to the guys who(might) declare for the draft.

Good post. If we're going to waste draft picks flailing around for a QB at least do it in a trade for someone who's played in the NFL. I don't know if I can stomach spending extra picks to watch a reach pick play as bad as Hill for the next 2 years.

You're right. But both players might be there. We know how much measurable affect the draft. They both might fall in the offseason.

I still like Bryce Petty too. There's some decent prospects. Its just about where you take them.

And if it is so, call the sure play!Remember, Hill is having a bad day, refs too, but you can win.Go with the manual, not with a fantasy-call.If your players lost a fumble with a run, nobody can tell you something.Nobody! Then you need to use time and SD t.o.Can you say if we didn't score with 3 rush, bad calls? You can win with the extra time!

I completely understand the need for Hill top pass from the 4 yard line if

1) it was 4th down and Rams couldn't punch it in 3 previous plays

2) Rams were down by 4-7 points and (see point 1)

3) Rams had absolutely no running game what so ever and (see points 1&2)

I'd say Buffalo and the Titans too.
