I'll be we don't sign any vets, some people I've read seem to want us to sign a vet to be a coach in a uniform for the young LB corp. The only exception I could see is if we suffer an injury on the OLine we could then bring in a vet but that's the only way I could see an older guy signed. Too much of a youth movement going on with the team to waste a roster spot on a glorified coach.

No major surprises except

Demby does not make roster. Goes to IR or late PS move.

Rams keep four including Hemingway at TE and McElroy.

Blythe is the RG first two games.

WR bench stays the same: Cooper, Reynolds and Thomas.

Hager gets cut.

Wilson rotates in at LBer

Lawler makes team

JFM plays DE and OLBer.

Oko will be nursing his injury for a while. Neither Price nor Sickels makes the cut. Leaving us a little short at OLB. Vet is picked up for depth.
 
-RB Kelly to practice squad. Davis #3 RB.
-QB Perez cut.
-WR Thomas cut.
-Mundt #3 TE by end of year. Starts on practice squad.
-Smart cut.
-Ficken practice squad to start season, then cut at midseason.
-Allen practice squad.
-Obo practice squad to start the season, brought up after 4 games.
-Lawler back up OLB.
-Kiser back up ILB
-Bryce Hager D team capt

If Hager is D team captain then that means his is a starter and that does not bode well for our ILB situation. In my opinion he is on the bubble only because of his ST play.

I was thinking this could be Brian Allen...Demby's bigger and can play Guard & Tackle, Rams have quite a few guys who can play Center in Sullivan, Blythe, Neary & Eldrenkamp so that is a position that has some depth.

I was looking at draft position. I think Allen would be harder to hide on the PS. He was drafted 4th round #111 compared to 6th round #192 for Demby. Snead and McVay had really high praise for Allen. Allen looks like the next OC he would get valuable reps as Sullivan will be on the veteran practice limit. We will see how many and who they keep.

I understand your reasoning, but I'd be shocked if Allen got cut, more so it will probably be Blythe, Neary, or Eldrencamp, in no particular order. Allen would be the shocker though, for sure. I think he has the alpha mentality to make it, and stick. Future starter, IMO.

Didn't post Allen would get cut, I posted I could see him going to IR, however, he's tough as nails so probably not going to happen, but IMHO, Demby is the purest Guard the Rams have behind Saffold & Brown IMHO.

Read today that Noteboom, and Blythe have the inside channel to the spot, until J. Brown returns. Brown is still running with the 1's. Any direction is good, as I think the we have some options there. Sorry, about the confusion.

No worries my good Doctor and besides I'm becoming overly sensitive in regards to Jamil Demby because I wanted the Rams to draft him, so when someone posts something even remotely unfavorable I feel it's my mission to defend the former Black Bear alum.

I just reread the entire thread and many of our board’s most respected posters had many a swing and a miss.

Including yours truly.

So many things were revealed between July 23 and today...
