Agree wholeheartedly. We DO need those types…for nickel and dime packages, depth, and STs. Should Lake go down again, I would not complain if McCreary stepped in. I was not impressed with Wallace last year in that role.
…but I am NOT for forcing McCreary onto the field at Lake’s expense and I think the Rams can do better when it comes to upgrading the STARTING secondary.

Spoiler alert:
I’ll be coming out with such a plan in my revised mock.
Looking forward to it. I love the mocks! What secondary players are on the field in dime packages? Maybe they can both see the field.

I thought he was awesome. He didn't make any splash plays, but he was rarely a liability. You need those guys on your team to. The guys who just do the right thing every down. We play a lot of dime, so we need two slot types anyway. Right?
I wouldn't pay much for another slot type.

Dropping this in here instead of a new topic. In case you didn't know Ran came to the Rams with Snead and left after 2016 to go to SF.

I’m guessing they resign McCreary which makes Curl optional. Lake could move to S and McCreary to NB. And if they keep both they are set at S/NB. CB is another matter as that should be a complete overhaul but they have FA $$ and Drsft picks to address. It will be a fun offseason as a Rams fan!!

Is there a face palm emoji we can add? Just asking
No but I prefer this meme it usually covers every situation.

Both of the comments are bizarre. It’s obvious the Rams have already moved on from Atwell. Why in the world would McVay even have to address that in a press conference. And getting rid of Parkinson would require the Rams to either resign Higbee (which is risky, considering his durability) or go after another TE in FA (as I don’t see them using a draft pick for one in the first 3 rounds).
Right, it's not like the Rams are just gonna draft a Y tight end who can start right away (I'd like them to draft a guy who could either take over for Parkinson someday at Y or taken on Allen's role when gone).

So that leaves them either keeping Parkinson, finding someone else in FA or move Fergy to Y full time and I just think that kinda hamstrings his role elsewhere at F and X.

And, unlike days gone by in the World of Ramdom, the off season draft and FA posts didn't begin in mid October. :cheers2: :shitlogo:

After this season, I’m guessing the Rams give him a 1-2 year extension that’ll push some of his salary out. They should tell him it’s win now and keep that window open. That would lock up a good TE who understands the offense at a reasonable cost.

I mean we gotta start extending guys on the team if we want to even field a team in two years, he's a good target.

I'd wager they do it now. Lower the cap hit this year a bit for more spending on D and keep a guy in house.

If he's healthy he'd make our offense almost unstoppable. The problem with him is I don't see a locker room fit.
I hardly believe that he wouldn't fit in if he wants to play for McVay. Our coach doesn't seem to have issues there in terms of players buying in. I'll leave it up to the Rams to determine if he is indeed a fit. Unfortunately, Hill is also coming off a big injury so there's that to consider as well.

Dude had a severe knee injury and its 30+. Tank Dell had a similar injury and is still young. He missed the entire following season and I don't think he could suit up today. Hill wins with speed and agility. Severe knee injuries hamper that. I seriously doubt he will be back to his old self this entire season. And he isn't a team guy (by all accounts). Hard pass.
