Antonio Callaway said the marijuana found in a Sunday morning search of his car was not his.

Per a league source, Callaway's story is apparently that he had recently had his car shipped from Florida to Ohio, and that he "hadn't used it in awhile" but others had. It's certainly a story. Already in Stage 1 of the NFL's Substance Abuse Program, Callaway has a lot to lose from any marijuana-related offense, however minor. Coach Hue Jackson is unsure if Callaway will suit up for Thursday's preseason debut.

Of course it's not his, it's never theirs.

And that's exactly why I didn't want him in the draft. Way too many character flaws.

can someone please clue me in. is it standard procedure in america to search a car when it's been stopped for a traffic violation? i've been stopped many times for a traffic violation, a few after midnight, and not once have the cops searched my car. why would they search his car?

.
It's not standard procedure, but it can be done if there's probable cause or some such legal jargon. I don't actually know what constitutes probable cause, or whatever the legal jargon is, so I won't comment on it.

I also feel like this is a topic that could go sideways really fast, so if a mod would rather delete my comment than watch that happen, go for it.

Antonio Callaway had gun parts and ammunition in his car (in addition to weed) when he was pulled over in Ohio ... and the police video obtained by TMZ Sports shows it made the lead officer get "real nervous."

The cop smelled weed and searched the car -- finding a small amount of marijuana under the driver's seat ... along with the backstrap of a Glock firearm and several rounds of ammo.

You can see the officer gets very serious when he finds the bullets and gun parts -- ordering Callaway to put his hands in the air and stay put.

Antonio told the officer there was NO gun in the car -- just the parts. The officer eventually verified Callaway's claim, but admits to his partner he got anxious when he found the bullets.

And thus, there's your probable cause! Way to go Callaway!

RICHIE INCOGNITO ARRESTED AT FUNERAL HOME
Allegedly Threatened to Shoot Employees

Ex-NFL star Richie Incognito was arrested in Arizona on Monday after allegedly going berserk in a funeral home following the death of his father ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We're told ... the 35-year-old offensive lineman was talking with staffers at the funeral home when he suddenly exploded and began yelling at various people.

Sources say Incognito allegedly told people he had guns in his vehicle and would shoot people. We're told he also threatened to damage property at the funeral home.

Cops were called to the scene to respond to an "out of control" Incognito. He was ultimately arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to a nearby station where he was booked and posed for a mug shot.

We're told cops got a search warrant on the car -- and did find guns inside the vehicle. The vehicle and the weapons were impounded.

We're told he's still in custody at the time of this post.

Well, if there is a plus side to this I guess it was at least a dramatic life changing event he was at. Death of a parent is hard and everyone takes it differently. So if there is a plus side, at least he's going berserk at that instead of at random people at a gym or bar. But still, dude has some serious issues he needs to deal with or he'll either end up dead or in jail.

Death of a parent gets a mulligan from me - even someone with a past.

Now had he hit someone or destroyed property or something like that - then I could see charges. As it is, the funeral home should have let it go, then the cop should have let it go, hopefully the prosecutor will let it go.

Death of a parent is something to empathize with and definitely feel for the guy. But that doesn’t give him the right to threaten to shoot people.

Panthers’ D.J. Moore clocked at 113 in a 65 mph zone
BY MICHAEL GORDON

Carolina Panthers rookie receiver D.J. Moore faces an Oct. 2 court date after being cited on Interstate 77 earlier this month for doing 113 mph in a 65 mph work zone.

“F---- that car is moving,” Trooper H.L. Bautista wrote in his report of the stop, which occurred after Moore and his teammates returned to the city after a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills in New York.

Moore, 21, was charged with speeding, and speeding in a work zone at over 80 mph.

He was pulled over at 2:52 a.m. on I-77 north near the intersection of N.C. 24, according to Bautista’s report.

The trooper said Moore’s 2017 white Mercedes came up on him from behind and that Bautista followed Moore’s car for about a mile before pulling him over. The trooper described traffic conditions at the time as “light.”

In his report, Bautista described Moore as “polite and cooperative,” and that the player told him the team had just landed at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport and of him “wanting to get home.”

According to the address included on the trooper’s report, Moore lives near the intersection of I-485 and Prosperity Church Road, east of Northlake Mall.

“When it all happened, D.J. came to us right away and explained the situation. He was very remorseful. He understood,” said Panthers coach Ron Rivera. “We chastised him obviously. And he’s moving on. And it’s an opportunity to learn for him and for the other young guys. ‘Hey, you have a responsibility to the community.’”

Hours earlier, Moore played an instrumental role in the Panthers’ 28-23 win over Buffalo. The rookie from Maryland was the team’s leading receiver, catching four passes for 75 yards.

Reporter Jourdan Rodrigue contributed to this story.

Yeah, while it's legal to have guns in your car in Arizona, once you threaten to get them and kill somebody, or just imply that you're going to shoot up a business, you've crossed a line, grief or not.

On the bright side, very convenient spot, and the victims would likely get an employee discount. (too soon?)
