by your standard the possibility of kroenke being forced to sell should be real since 3 or 4 people have written articles or chimed in on it within 24-36 hours

Because as it grows there's most certainly going to be more scrutiny, and if it holds up to that scrutiny, then that's a good thing.

Right now the only ones who have discussed the rumors are local beat writers, and Peacock, who all want the rumor to be true. If/when national media guys who would be expected to be unbiased are discussing it, and it's not getting debunked, I'd say it's pretty credible.

If you walk to a Ford dealership and 5 guys that work there tell you that Ford are the best vehicles in the world, are you going to instantly buy a Ford, because obviously if 5 people tell you it's true? Or are you going to go look at the Kelley Blue Book, for an unbiased take? I'm waiting for the Kelley Blue Book on this rumor.

As for Jason Garrett, I'm not familiar with that, but Rob Ryan was hired as our DC and then he quit the next day, remember? Either way, that's not really the same situation. I'm not calling on these guys to be 100% correct, but I'd like to see if it passes their sniff test at least.

If we break down the rumor it has a lot of parts. First the NFL is telling Kroenke that yes they want him to build Inglewood. Then they're telling him that no, he cannot move the Rams there. Then they're saying he needs to find a local ownership group to sell it to. Then they're telling Mark Davis he needs to sell the Raiders to Kroenke. If he doesn't agree, they're going to force him out. Then they'll let the Raiders move to Inglewood. Meanwhile Spanos has to give up on Carson, and either let another team move to LA without him, or STILL shack up with Kroenke. All for what exactly?

It's complex and frankly ridiculous in some aspect of it. Which is why I'm not buying it without unbiased sources confirming it.

In terms of people on this forum understanding some roster moves sooner, that is to be expected, but again a completely different situation.

Honestly, I don't think I would. Owners don't usually make personnel decisions, and when they do it doesn't usually work out well (Jerry Jones anyone?), and Peacock wont have the deep pockets that Kroenke has, which means a much lower internal salary cap.

I would look at Peacock as a Managing General partner. IMO, he would most likely get a group together. I concur about the deep pockets, but there is something to be said having an owner attend games and be more involved from a fan perspective. Robert Kraft and I gulp when I post this is like that and before he became ill Pat Bowlen was the best.

Overall you do want an owner that allows his football people to do their jobs, but when I started rooting for the Rams Carroll Rosenbloom was the owner and was more than involved he was the a pig in a bacon and eggs breakfast where the chicken is involved, but the pig is committed. Rosenbloom was committed!

Imo when it comes to owners, money talks. Which i speculate thats why the rumor of the NFL wanting Kroenke to work with Spanos might carry some weight - 2 teams in LA is a helluva lot more revenue.. But according to the same rumors, they appear to have some kind of issues or rift between them.

Kroenke and Spanos were playing golf together late last year and were hanging out on the sidelines in SD. They looked friendly to me.
I don't believe it's personal between them. More about how this affects Spanos' business.
Does co-owning Carson really make Spanos more money after debt servicing all the loans then he'd make simply paying rent to Stan? If not one might assume this situation is doable.
