I'm not following. Why would BB be paid like an every down player? He doesn't have a pass rush skillset. He'd be paid like an every-down lineman. And I'd rather sign the guys to extensions next year. You have to make sure the bedrock pieces are in place: I can't imagine that Nacua isn't going to get a massive contract next year. And I haven't even mentioned K-Will yet; he'll be twenty-five all of next year, his contract ends next year, and it'll be a tough call to re-sign him or not.
You're making contradicting arguments. If A-Rob and Gaines are superior run defenders than BB, then it won't be very costly to resign him.Agreed. Better that some other team pays the price and not us. We've let superior run defenders in A-Rob and Gaines go. BB3 isn't an exception because he's young.
Good decision to move off of Jones, bad decision to start Reeder.Dropoff from Jones to Speights is now quite minimal. Jones is stronger between the tackles and better on the blitz. But Speights has better range, is pretty strong himself between the tackles, and is cheap as fuck.
Rams made a good decision to ship Jones' ass to Tennessee. Enjoy getting lowballed in FA you MFer. Because ain't no team gonna pay you big money when you're an early down ILB with a suspect knee.
As the cap goes up, salaries go up... he will get more tjan those guys and I think his age will make teams think he has more upside. Maybe not $9M, but it will be $6M or more. You're making contradicting arguments. If A-Rob and Gaines are superior run defenders than BB, then it won't be very costly to resign him.
I think A-Rob got $5 mil. and Gaines got $4 mil. There's no way Brown doubles their salary at $9 mil. when they're better than him.
He was before my time too.Roosevelt Grier was before your time!
I like Speights. I thought he played well on Sunday. Not going to lie this is quite suprising.
The Saints ran the ball for around 150 yards and he dropped an Int right to him.
Good stuff - V8 throws the 231 lb TE into the hole and then makes the tackle on the RB...
Impressive!
I actually named one of my Labs Rosey after Mr. Grier.I once had a dog I named Fred Gehrke.
Liar!He was before my time too.
Rozeboom is definately playing better than earlier in the season and does seem to make a couple nice plays each game but he’s a depth player not a run stuffer/ game changer. What the Lions did to him/ Reeder game 1 and Saquon did to him/Speights was shameful. Also he gets KILLED by TEs/RBs running short routes across the middle.Over his last 4 games I haven't seen too many missed tackles or bad angles. McVay brought it up on his Monday night show. He's playing like he knows the defense now. Fast and violent. Hopefully he continues to trend in the right direction.
I trust Rams made the right decision long term but it probably cost the Rams a couple games this season. Is there something I missed re: your MFer comment towards Jones. Did he in fact try playing hardball for more $$ or pout about not getting it?Dropoff from Jones to Speights is now quite minimal. Jones is stronger between the tackles and better on the blitz. Well I am not a mind reader. But he returned from injury behind on the scheme according to comments by the Rams. Not like he can't study the changes to the defense while on the sideline, after all. So I think that plus the Rams moving him when they otherwise seemed ready to let him play out the contract...
