Did I think that the Rams would miss the playoffs this year after making it to the Super Bowl. BUT, I never in a million years would have guessed that the 49ers would go instead. They had been so bad, I didn’t see this meteoric rise at all. It stinks, and I hope that it hurts all the way down to the water boy. Our doomed belief that we could feather the clutch on Todd Gurleys usage by using him just enough to help us win, but not too much to harm him more. We played scared football by not getting a vet pounder to soften our opponents. Yes I’m angry, and watching the Niners take over after the Pats beat us doesn’t help. Just a missing the playoffs vent.

It sings. Have my father in law over, niner fan. Go over to cousin's house tonight, his wife and son dressed in Niners gear (he's a Buckethead and Colts fan). Very painful.

The worst part is that the whiners will probably win the SB, Andy Reid will choke and KC doesnt play much defense. Will be the 1st SB with over 100 points combined and everyone will say it was the greatest game in SB history. Makes me sick just thinking about it. All the whiner fans that came out of nowhere with all their brand new whiner gear are gonna be talking trash all off season. I would love for them to get embarrassed, but dont have much faith in the KC D. And it seems teams play their worst game of the season when facing the whiners. They arent that good, you just have to keep their D on the field and make crapollo beat you, he will throw picks if you force him to throw the ball.

Rarely have the Rams & Niners been good at the same time. IIRC the last time they were both in the playoffs was '89 ?? I could be mistaken.

I hope SF stays relevant next season so we can bust them outta the post season.

The Niners took a risk on Dick Sherman and came up with Aces. He has one more year on that deal then turns into a 33 year old Free Agent.

So the Niners have one more year to their so called Dynasty.

I hate both the Chiefs and 49ers. I guess I have to root for the Chiefs, I feel like vomiting. I might not even watch the Superbowl, though that won't change anything.

Sigh* don’t like watching them succeed, and I don’t even go back far enough to know the rivalry for what it truly is.

John Lynch has hit on pretty much every pick he has made in the later part of the drafts, and not just hit, hit home runs. Not sure why some of ypu are surprised. As the other poster has stated, they were hit with crazy injuries last season. I dont have them beating the Chiefs, but who knows what will happen. I cant allow myself to hate or be mad at another teams success. At the end of the day, its only a game.

Great Post, however, that is why the word fan d'arrives from the word fanatic....I will still root against the 49ers every week, but Kyle Shanahan is as good as I thought he was and John Lynch too.

They also have a Defensive Coordinator in Robert Saleh that should have been the Browns next Head Coach and next year, he will be on everybody's short list...Also many posters are negative towards Jimmy Garoppolo, but before Garoppolo they were losing and he's had some great games this year.

With all that being posted....Go Kansas City Chiefs, kick their ass and give them the biggest case of Super Bowl hangover that will last for the next decade.

Sometimes I wish I felt that way, but I must ask does any true fan feel that way. As much as I hate to admit it the way my team performs affects my mood and my world.

To me it's the beauty of pro football. You can turn it around in a hurry with the right pieces and coaching. I hate the Niners, but damn is that a well built team at the moment. Got Mike Person as a key cog in a dominating run game.
It's not lost on me that Shanny is killing it with jet sweep motion or a boot action on damn near every run. That ish works, keep doing it! Sean gets too cute and wants to throw the ball just cause he likes throwing. If Sean would commit to the running game with the same precision and detail he does to the passing game, the Rams would be unstoppable.

Build the O line, build the O line, build the O line...

It absolutely does and should to an extent...You can compartmentalize and try to focus maybe on other sports like basketball or baseball for example, that has helped me over the years and obviously increased responsibilities as work is a great healer IMHO combined with family enables one to lick their wounds and get ready for the following season.

Problem with the San Francisco 49ers for me was the Rams never got to a Super Bowl during the 70's with those great teams until the team was at the end of their run in 1979, then the 49ers finally make the playoffs for the first time in many years in 1981 and run the table, so that will bother me and last year the Rams had an incredable year, but it was tough to enjoy because of "The Call" and they played their worst game all year in they Super Bowl and now this...So again, Go Chiefs!
