I didn't know much about Landman and actually thought at first he was a depth signing but this guy is a run stuffing stud. And he may have saved us a game with the punchout against the Texans. And unlike the whiners, he hit the ball, not the head of the opposing player

Reeder had a good game.
Credit where credit is due.
He had 3 or 4 excellent plays but other than that - he was horrible

And the run defense improved dramatically when Dolac came into the game.

Reeder was out of position on the majority of the run plays but I will say those 3 or 4 other plays were definitely really good plays.

He barely played. So that's a pretty good sample size. The Reeder hate never stops.
Barely played? He had 30 snap counts. And the other 26 snaps were average to terrible plays by Reeder.

I was so glad when Dolac was in the game.

Look at the video above.

Dolac knew where to go to stop the run.

When he was in the game, that was the majority of the time when we stopped Henry for a short gain.

When Reeder was in the game, Henry usually got 6 to 8 yards per carry.

100%. Reeder is constantly out of position, and not fast enough to recover when he is. He also waits for the contact to come to him instead of attacking like Speights & Dolac & Landman do.

The penalty which is almost never called was an ineligible punting team player downfield before the punt was off.

He was barely past the one yard that is allowed on punts.

Refs were looking for a reason to overturn the fumble.

There was no flag until way after the play was over.

It was such bullshit.

Two turnovers in that game which were overturned due to bullshit calls.

The difference is the lateral quickness (his change of direction). On that play Dolac caught the QB on the 4 yard line he was heading inside when the QB made his move, but still managed to change direction and close him down. There are a lot of ILBs in this league that don't make that play. And Reeder is one of them.

Reeder would be out of the play the moment he has to change direction to match the QB. He is actually plenty athletic but he is too fucking big and changes direction like a freight train. This is why I'll say for the umpteenth time he should be playing about 10 lbs lighter.

Reeder is a decent player but yeah, he's hit and miss. He makes some great plays when he reads the play correctly, but yeah, he doesn't change direction too well and at times, he misreads plays as well. For what it's worth, I recall him making a good play in the super bowl that helped the Rams come back to win. He's almost a tweener where yeah, maybe he needs to lose weight or somehow work to get a little faster.

I don't mind seeing him out there. What I don't like is keeping a better player on the bench for him. So if Speights and Dolac can't go then sure, play Reeder.
