If I suddenly came into a windfall of cash, I'd buy the rights to name that stadium for a year.
But first I'd spend a little money to open up a small business wherein I sell fiber optic cables.
They're made of glass tube, so I guess I'd just call it Glass Tube Fiber Optics.
I'd headquarter it San Diego because the weather is phenomenal.
That way I could name the stadium after my business.
Glass Tube Fiber Optics, San Diego.
Or -- G.T.F.O San Diego.
I knew you were going somewhere with that. Well played sir. Worth the read.

Wal-Mart... I really hope it has nothing to do with them... but Stans wife is Ann Walton and squeezing $600 isnt easy

I thought Sony was the main suitor.

Whoever gets it will have their business seen by anyone flying into LA plus all the obvious event coverage. The olympics will be huge for them. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest $30 million is low.

If you think he would go out of his way or take less money to tick off a guy he's making money on you don't understand how this works, and Spanos doesn't give a freak about anything but money. Neither of these guys do.

Yeah, admittedly I am not an owner so it's accurate to say I don't understand it. Just spitballin here of course.

But that aside, I do recall that the rent is ridiculously cheap as per their agreement post-decision. And it seems to me that Stan, given the nature of the fallouts of many business deals in his past, isn't beyond holding the landlord status over Dean in many small ways (since the NFL basically dictated that he play nice with Dean as a tenant).

Surely for Dodge to win that naming deal they'd have to field a competitive offer, I mean obviously Stan wouldn't take peanuts for it, but it is a nice fit and assuming the dropoff in the offer isn't too great I think it would be not only one of the best sponsorship deals in the league in terms of appropriateness wrt to the team name, but it would also infuriate the tenant who would need to hear that reference every single time the stadium they play in is mentioned.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Stan's above basic antagonizing of the rival who tried to keep him out of LA.

Oh good. So the overrated genius, Elon Musk, can get billions more in government subsidies to pay for the naming rights for Tesla.

I say we name it the Peter Schrager Worship Center

That’s how the rich get richer. It’s called corporate welfare.

It's sometimes how the rich get richer. Crony Capitalism is not Capitalism at all. It is Socialism. Government often will punish some industries and reward others. Not the way our system was intended to work.

The Aaron Donald stadium. He could probably afford it soon too....

Edward Jones in the running ?
