I'm sad it's for Verse.. but I'm not sad about the deal at all. Garrett is the primo, number one, best pass rusher in the NFL. The Rams D is going to mess teams up.
If we don't win it all it'll be a massive choke job.
They probably dont think he is worth the $100 plus million contract that he will demand.

Well, the Rams asked him to set edge a bit more, and we had a huge turnaround from one of the worst to one of the best Run defenses in the league.
The question is will Verse ever be worth the $30M a year that his status will demand? I thibk we got the answer from the Rams perspective.

This move can be rationalized as "for Matthew Stafford." For all the pundits and folks who took it as a Rams slight that they didnt use pick 13 to help Matthew. How's THIS for help?

Same as in 2021......this a is a repeat except we are building before the season starts rather than half way through....not sure if that helps.

I feel the same. Especially in the run where he seemed to over pursue or have bad angles quite often. He could’ve just had an off year, but I get the FO reaction
I think this is right. Doesn't mean he won't get there eventually, but it's very unlikely he's going to become an elite pass rusher. Verse is a great run defender and gets pressure, but it's unlikely he'll be a 12-15 sack per year type of guy. Myles Garrett has averaged 17 sacks per year over the last 5 years. Verse ain't that guy. Hopefully, Myles has a few more years left of continuing to be that guy.
