That can always make a "conditional" trade, by making the condition a conditional first, based on having that pick. They simply assure the other team that they won't lose that first rd pick to Cleveland.

BTW, I wonder if there are wording in the deal that Verse can't be traded to the NFC West? That to me is more likely to happen if their timeline takes longer than expected or if a team innthe west simply blows them away with an offer.
You can't make a trade with a pick you may not have. If they trade a pick in that draft it would have to be the 2nd rounder.

Can't trade a pick that has a condition on it belonging to another tram already.

Thats true, but still can be easily gotten around.

Example: Rams acquire player X from Team X for a 2029 2nd round pick that becomes a 1st if the Rams still have it. If the Rams DON’T have it Team X receives Rams 2030 AND 2031 1st Round picks. (Rams assure Team X on the side that 2029 pick WILL be there).

And simple enough, I think Les is certainly capable of resisting trading Myles Garrett to Bengals, Steelers or Ravens.

Honestly stopped reading. The mental gymnastics yo try to reason out this just makes zero sense. We cannot trade our 2029 1st round pick. We can aquire other picks in the 2029 1st round and trade them sure.

They can't actually offer that. The 2028 pick has a condition to make it a first. As long as that's possible they can't trade that years 1st rounder.
I thought it was the 2029 pick that could be a conditional first round pick.

Edit - nm saw that someone else had responded.

Yes of course that won't prevent us from trading our 2029 first round pick Conditionally.

Our 2029 1st round pick is already conditionally traded. How many times you think the league will let us trade 1 pick? Les is great but lol

See example above. Try to stick with it all the way through. I promise, it wont take up more than 20 seconds of your life OS, LOL

Seachickens and 49's fans having conversations about the Rams not being better now:
The phrase "whistling past the graveyard" (or "whistling past the cemetery") means to enter a scary or precarious situation while trying to remain brave, cheerful, and optimistic, often by masking one's true fear or anxiety. It can also mean trying to ignore a looming danger or a bad situation by pretending it doesn't exist.

You trade yoir highest pick in the 2029 draft. That's the condition.

I have seen conditions like that before where a team says they will trade their lowest pick in a given round. Well, that could end up being a compensatory pick if that team gets one.

You might be right, but I thought I have seen language like that. In fact I recall the Rams doing that before where the language calls out the lowest pick in a round and comp picks were in play where they were yet to be declared.

I don't disagree about the gap being there at all. If Verse learns to finish those pressures, that gap will shorten tremendously. I truly believe Verse cares enough and is talented enough to improve. Unfortunately for him, the Rams want to win now and Garrett is the much better player right now.
Yep, agreed.
Will he be able to do that jump?
Who knows?
Garrett is there.

Not to pat myself on the back, but my example up above covers it perfectly.

Verse was one of my favorite Rams. Tough to have to give him up to get Garrett. Having said that Garrett is the finisher the Defense needs. I'm sure it was on McVays mind that even with the crazy two point play we still should have been able to close out the hawks and win that game, but the rush just couldn't get home. We also couldn't close out philly earlier as well. Hopefully this trade solves that issue.

Again a gold medal to you. A couple real si.ple fac t s them I m done with your gymnastics.

You cannot trade a pick that is already a part of a trade.

You cannot trade a puck that you do not own.

Play what ifs all you want but those two things listed above make that trade for Joe Burrow as listed impossible.

The highest pick available is our 2029 1st round pick. Yet that puck is part of another trade. So if you make another trade and acquire a lrher 1st that year you can't go back and modify a previous trade.

You can't make a trade a send a pick that you don't curre try own

It's not a difficult concept I thought.

it's not impossible whatsoever. You are greatly exaggerating. This is so easy to get around.

See my conditional Trade Up Above, once again, sigh....
You are still playing mental gymnastics to try to put multiple conditions on a draft pick which you simply cannot do. You also can't trade a pick more than 3 years out. The Rams tried to change that rule and failed.

Gold medal effort though its amazing these ideas all revolving around things that you can't do and a trade for Burrow that will never happen.

This does not take the Rams out of any Joe Burrow or any other player sweepstakes, not even point 00001%..
