Roadie's been trying to work her way into my heart. She won't replace Guapo but she's definitely softening me towards her. She's a heartbreaker. Male dogs come up to her at the dog park and she looks at them like "In your dreams".

yeah i thought no dog would ever replace Max...but Auggie has made me his human and has grown on me to the point where I stopped trying to give him away

Damn guys. I had a terrible incident this morning. A pit bull was lose and attacked my neighbors dog. He had it's head in his mouth and was killing it. I had no choice but to grab my old softball bat. I had to hit the dog repeatedly at full strength to get it off. I feel like complete shit right now. I didn't want to hurt the pit because I know he's someone pet but I felt if I didn't the little poodle would be killed. The neighbors aren't home and there dog is injured severely to the point I'm not sure he'll live. I've called animal control and they have someone on the way. Man I hope they both will be ok. I feel sick to my stomach right now....

You did the right thing. The little dog would have no chance. The pit might be hurt but he'll have a better chance at surviving than the dog he tried to kill. If the smaller dog lives it will be because you stopped the pit from killing it. I hope it turns out ok.

Animal control might have to quarantine the pit. If he's that dangerous he might have to be put down. What if there was a toddler instead of a dog in his sights?

I realize you feel bad and I would too. But it sounds like you did the right thing. Sucks you had to go through that my man. Hope the little dog is ok.

@Pancake - nothing else you could do man. This has nothing to do with anything, but it pisses me off when aggressive dogs get "loose".
I know shit happens, but while not a fan of rush to judgement, an owner (should) know his or her dog, and they should be extra careful.

But to your point, I would not feel good either having to beat a dog, but like 503 said, you saved the other one.

Cheers.

Thanks for the support guys. Animal shelter people finally showed up and took the pit. He was able to walk so I'm hoping he's going to be alright. I also saw the other dog a little bit ago and he was sitting up so I think he's going to be ok too. I put a note on the owners door to have them call me so I can let them know they need to check their dog.

My neighbors have a chainlink fence and the pit actually got hold of the small dog and pulled it under the fence and out of it's yard. Once I got the pit off. The little dog slithered back under and into his yard.

Went to my folks house to try to get a picture of Fane...but he was incredibly wild. Wouldn't stop moving. I mean, granted, he is a puppy, but jeez, lemme get a picture of you! He's also slowly losing his puppy colors (pure black), and I think he's going to be a chocolate Labradoodle.

And then I got to see Destiny at my parents house for once. She takes up residence where Fane can't get to her, but my mom managed to coax her out (Fane was being held back by my dad; he apparently follows my mom everywhere.), and she was purring in my lap when I pet her. Didn't even try to leap out.

And a week before that, I went to my brother's house to see his kittens. I got some nice pictures of them.

My daughter-in-law sent me this pic of my grandpup yesterday.

Apparently Cali is ready to start driving now...

We've got 4 dogs coming over today. Two of them are already here... our friend's 2 coc-a-poos.

A snapped this earlier. My youngest twin son the colt fan is watching his dolts on Hard Knocks. Notice that he isn't looking at the TV screen admiring his beloved team... he's steady staring at his stupid phone instead.

The dogs are trying to comfort him. LOL
