Nah. Mine's kind of a shithead. Love him anyway.I might have looked into it - but got a vet riding buddy said it's not a good idea.
Still hated to do it.
Anyway....
Needed to bump this thread to show y'all the world 's coolest dog. View attachment 18137
And, as we all know, (if you're reading this) you have the best dog on the planet.
Love the way that works.
My puppy ate something wild on the ranch and it sent her into this weird trance like state where if I put my hand toward her she'd flinch. Then she would be standing and her back legs would just slide out from under her. What was really strange though was that she never lost her spirit, she would run to greet you but just forgot how to use her legs and was all wobbly. She was starring into the sun reflecting off the floor. So I know something is seriously wrong and rush her to emergency and all the way there I was freaked out cause she was all nodding off - i thought i was gonna lose her, so here i was trying to drive this 3/4 ton truck down a country road as fast as possible while trying to keep her alert - and of course this happens when wife and kids are out enjoying the town.
At the vet they try and stand her but she'd fall over. So they totally see what I'm talking about and they ask me what she ate on the walk - but dogs on walks always nibble on stuff and she's never on a leash so i have no idea. - so they pump her stomach and can't find anything strange. So they have to keep her overnight. But they say her vitals look good and she won't die.
Their conclusion was that she ate something in the wild and it caused her to basically start "tripping out"
Here she is recovering. Took her a few days to get 100%. And today she is looking great and we went on our first walk since Her doggir acid trip

That's wild. Wonder what she ate?
Glad she's recoving.
I thought mushrooms too until you said she was loosing control of her hind limbs. I'm thinking she ate some kind of poisonous bug or frog that had a neurotoxin.
Yeah you might be right. I'm gonna have to be keeping a close eye on here through the winter and into Spring, normally i let her just adventure and chase squirrels and stuff while i'm outside. It's gonna be tough
Probably just a freak thing. You're not gonna be able to coop her up now. Remember... dogs are smarter than we give em credit for. My guess is that she will never eat whatever it was again... she'll know better the next time.

Coop's a year old today.
Love the crap out of this dog, but (and) think about Roxy every day.
Dogs really do leave footprints on our lives.
To all, especially those of you who have the best dog on the planet, (which is anyone who has one),
Happy New Year.
Cheers.
