As fans, patience is all we have. We can talk about cut this guy, fire that guy, but to think someone on the Rams is reading and being influenced? Not a chance. All the armchair GM gets is disappointment when what he wants doesn't happen. That's the definition of inevitable.

So hang your hat on impatience if you like. It won't make your enjoyment of football any better.

It's been a long hard road over the past 10 years.

But I believe it's all coming to a head shortly.

Their lease expires next year and who knows where Kroenke is taking his team.

If they don't have a winning season next year, how empty will the dome be with a losing team that may be on their way out the door?

2014 is the start of getting resolution on this team.

I have no idea if they will be any good next year. No one does. But I do know that it will have an impact on Kroenke's actions.

Will the a Rams be a playoff team next year? Will they be moving the year after? Finally, after 10 years, we will find out soon.

No doubt, the results have been mixed. The Quick pick was a huge error by Snead. In a way, that pick was analogous to the Avery pick. The old regime was afraid of DJackson so they reached on Avery who no one was gonna take nearly that high. Same thing with Jeffery; Snead was afraid of Jeffery, he was fat, slow, whatever, so he reaches for Quick who no one was gonna take that high. The pathetic thing is that Snead and Fisher were patting themselves on the back for landing him, like he was this big secret surprise future superstar.

But let's not argue one pick. It's the view from 30,000 feet that counts. And so far not one Pro Bowl guy with 3 first rounder, 3 second rounders, and 3 third rounders. If we don't see these guys step up next year then we might as well have kept Devaney, at least he gave us Quinn.

BTW, how good is Snead's mentor Dimitroff in Atlanta? His drafts have sucked outside of Julio Jones who he paid a kings ransom for. Let's hope Snead is better than his old boss.

Quick has been a disappointment so far but I don't know if it's him or the coaches. What other young players played better this year than last? Maybe Sam was on his way. Kendricks seems a tiny bit better. Other than that I can say I'm not very impressed.

I agree 100%. I'll say this, if Sam and this team isn't much improved next year Sam may not be the man to lead the team to the promise land

Both eh?
It all must be Sam.
I knew it really was that easy after all.

Kroenke couldn't ask for a more perfect storm!

The lease to an outdated stadium that he makes no money on is coming up just as his team is rising and has big drafting firepower to use to add even more hope and talent. Next year as the Rams are continuing to improve and racking up wins the fans will start coming back.

Then the city will grant him some land to build on and he will have his own stadium, his own PSL money pouring in while it's being built and he will have oodles of acres around the stadium for hotels and restaurants and shops and such.

I can assure you that privately he is pleased with the timing of the lease and the progress of the Rams.

The wild card in all this is they may still be losers next year. There is no guarantee that these young players are gonna step it up next year and win. Maybe it's just me, maybe I've been fooled too many times by this team, but I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, the Rams are a entrenched losing team that can't get out of its own way.

So then what does Kroenke do if the team is 7-9 next year? No one in StL will be excited, the dome will be even emptier, people will sour on Fisher, and the city won't invest much in the Rams. Kroenke may do what Bidwell did and bolt.

That, my friend, is what 2014 is all about. It's the acid test year.

max I respectfully submit you don't "know " that
Fisher was given a five year deal so decisions on him IMO will come year 4
Now I don't KNOW this but I THINK Stan has his course of action he intends and the lease escape is in order to get year to year status so when his new stadium is completed he doesn't have a lease TO break.

I didn't mean to imply that Fisher would be fired if he lost next year. That's not happening. But, he may very well lose again next year. And even though Kroenke isn't firing Fisher, that doesn't mean the fans won't be down on him. Typically, a HC gets 3 years to put a winner on the field, part of the reason why is because the fans get restless.

All I'm saying is the performance of the Fisher's team in 2014 will affect Kroenke's implementation of his plan. And may alter it in some way.

I'm just sayin' I read this that Stan intends to own his venue and surroundings for parking etc and in St. Loius and someone is offering him the land to do it for free in Fenton.
And that I expect it to have a retractable dome

That story has been out there for a while. Stan undoubtedly wants control of income from all integrated stadium revenue.

I have very little patience but I don't need any to remain a Rams fan. 40 years practice with the Big Red will do that for you.

Over the last two years we have been the youngest team in the league and are younger this yr. than last.

Over that span we have posted a 12-16-1 record which while no something to brag about had we wom two of the games we lost it would put you at 14-14-1 IOW average for a league which again being the youngest team in said league which you can't, in my world, say it's poor performance , experience counts more IMO than talent unless the talent differential is profound.
OF the four losses we've had since Sam went down I'm pretty certain WITH Sam we'd have gone 2-2 or better.

You give those teams "experience" and IMO the record is well above average

SO in the end ,I'm satisfied if no one else is

Next season we're still going to have the youngest team in the league, especially after we draft 3-4 starters. What then???

I am too old not to be patient. I had a lot of hope for this season. Probably too much, but deep down I knew that they were just a little ways off. It was going to be tough to get a playoff spot with SEA/SF in the same division. Once they took off it was pretty distant. Then Bradford getting hurt. We had some great development this year at RB and Tavon showed that if he gets the ball enough he can be dangerous.

I have accepted that the Rams cannot just wait around for the Hags and Whiners to fail. Both of them are every bit as young as the Rams and have little room for talent. Fisher needs to push for a move or two that is big enough to make a jump to that next level. Otherwise, I will just continue being patient. We have too much speed and talent not to figure out something.

It's OK. If the young Horns can handle the best teams, that will get them ready for any team.

Well... That's true. Make the playoffs with that schedule and you're legit!
