Lol, the Jets pushed Cam and the Patriots to the limit. But you just knew Gase and the Jets weren't going to win this one, or any other games this season for that matter. Don't know why Cam Newton is so happy, he beat a team that probably couldn't beat a top 5 FBS team.

I'd have to look but I think for draft order the first tie breaker is division record. Boys are 1-2 Giants and Wash are 2-2.
Draft order for non playoff teams, after record, is based on strength of schedule. Has nothing to do with head to head matchups or division record etc...

Idea is the team with the weakest schedule, must be the worse team of the two or three or four teams that might be tied, so they get the better pick.

Oh right that's the first one then if there are ties it goes to the other stuff.

No it goes to coin flip.

The Raiders were involved in a coin flip a few yrs ago I believe.

So strength of schedule, then coin flip.

No coin flip as you post in that article just read it is last if all tie breakers are actually ties. In fact searching this article just posted doesn't even cite a coin toss.

In situations where teams finish the regular season with identical records, draft position is determined by strength of schedule — defined as the aggregate winning percentage of a team’s opponents. The team with the lower strength of schedule will be awarded the higher pick to break the tie.

If the teams with identical regular season records also have the same strength of schedule, division or conference tiebreakers are applied to determine which team will be awarded the higher pick.

Division Tiebreaking Procedures
If a tie remains between teams with both the same record and the same strength of schedule, and the teams are from the same division, then the division tiebreaking procedures are followed:

  1. Head-to-head record: the team with the worse record in games played against each other is awarded the higher pick in the NFL draft order.
  2. Winning percentage in games played within the division: the team with the lower winning percentage is awarded the higher pick.
  3. Winning percentage in common games: the team with the lower winning percentage is awarded the higher pick.
  4. Winning percentage in games played within the conference: the team with the lower winning percentage is awarded the higher pick.
  5. Strength of victory: the aggregate winning percentage for opponents each team defeated is calculated and the team with the lower strength of victory is awarded the higher pick.

Watch Becton at LT for the Jets. I watched two other Jets games. That dude us a beast. He blows people off that line. Im sure he makes rookie mistakes, but I really have seen much in the way of a negative. Especially in run blocking. Speed rushers may cause his big body trouble.

I really wanted Becton, even though we wouldn’t have a chance at him. Hmm...maybe when Whit retires, we can trade a first for Becton? I was right about Ramsey; maybe I’ll be right about Becton, too? ;)
